Lots of people calling Melo to the Lakers. I know LeBron and Melo are buddies, but I don’t see how they would work together as teammates. However, LeBron has apparently said he’s looking to play with more offensive playmakers.
I'll qualify this with that I like Melo... Like, way more than he deserves. But can the current Lakers make use of a spot-up shooter who can hit from anywhere, rebound his position well and create a shot at the end of a shot clock? Definitely. In an offense we've seen LeBron run for the last four seasons, I think Melo is more valuable than Kevin Love. If he goes to LA, it'll be for something like a mid-level exception, I guess. That means the Lakers should feel free to cut him whenever they don't think it's working out. The problem is, can you cut LeBron's guy?
