USC's offense is overrated, but their defense is sick. I could see them losing 1 possibly 2 games this year, but I have a hard time doubting Pete Carroll and the insane talent he brings in every year. I think everyone in the whole country is too quick to make up their mind over 1 "bad" game which happened to be the FIRST game of the season against Idaho. I mean come on guys, we weren't too impressive, offensively anyway, this whole season. We played bs teams and looked flat and slow on offense. I personally think USC is the 2nd best team in the country right now behind LSU and I think the biggest candidate to beat USC is Cal.
I'm seeing Washington over OSU as a popular upset pick all over this week. But I don't see it happening unless Washington's defense really steps up or our offense sputters. Our defense should dominate their offense. I see 3 possibilities in this game: 1. OSU's offense comes out running on all cylinders and gets an early lead on UW. The defense steps up and rocks Jake Locker all night. OSU wins 27-7. 2. OSU's offense starts slow, it takes a while to get into a rythym and the game is very close at halftime. The defense holds it down and the game is very low scoring. OSU wins because Tressel knows how to win close games, 14-10. 3. OSU's offense sputters. Boeckman turns the ball over several times, Beanie has no where to run, it takes until midway through the second quarter to get points on the board. Meanwhile, Jake Locker pulls a Tim Tebow and eludes our defense all day long. Washington is able to get a small lead by halftime and they win a close game in the second half. UW wins 20-10
I think option #2 is most likely. I think our offense will start off slow but then will get into rhythm.
I'm sure Tressel will have them ready, he's probably reminded them a thousand times of what happened the last time they took a long trip out west  I think they'll be prepared.
Hey guys, I look at these games a little diffrent than most of my buddies do. I guess I am optimistic and a major homer, I grasp at strings to find reasoning as to why we will win a given game. This has been my thoughts this week. 1) With the big Ten not doing so great, winning, losing, but not any real dominant wins, odds are one team will rise to the limelight and really shine bright. I feel we have a great chance to do this this week. Again, just looking at the odds, one team in the Big Ten has to show up, might as well be us. 2) They have won there games by decent margin of victories, they feel really good about it, especially since they weren't supposed to be good, they are pleasantly surprised. We on the other hand, have handidly beat teams too, but our guys are outwardly spoken and upset by the games. So I think this plays into our favor too. 3) Well, we have the best coach, in Tress we Trust! Well, there's my 2 cents guys, what do you think? -Jim
I completely agree. UW comes in with a chip on their shoulder thinking they can hang with the big boys after beating Syracuse and Boise St. (still a mid-major) while OSU, on the other hand, has been upset with themselves and pushing themselves to play better (like they should be already). OSU's defense is going to knock UW's offense around, I think we all know that. I believe that our defensive dominance will be enough to knock that chip OFF of UW's shoulder and hopefully bring down their expectations. Either way, I hope we come out and play like we should. As long as we have a decent game, Washington can't win.
I don't think we have to play spectacular football in order to win this game. All we need to do is play hard nosed tough Buckeye football and we'll be fine.
Basically, I think we just need to get the offense pumped up early and it will be smooth sailing from there. No Qb tango dance on the field. Just leave Boekmann out there and let him play his game.
I agree. I'm confident in our defense to stop Washington's offense. Just as long as we learn how to hold on to the football and play our game, we should win. Hey defense, how about an INT this week?
I agree completely. We need him to take ownership for this game and going forward. I see no reason to switch QB's in and out of this game. -Jim
I agree that we shouldn't be switching QB's in and out of this game because then it's harder to find a rhythm with the offense and the line will have their problems with the cadence.
I would still like to see Henton get some playing time at some point here. Also, the offense needs to get it together before the Northwestern game because that's when Lamaar Thomas is visiting and he needs to see how sweet he would be in our offense.
We needed to find our rhythm last week.!!! lol but hopefully today will be the last day we spend complaining about our O.
if there are any qb swaps, i would like to see henton in their to run an option attack. swapping 2 pocket qb's is just stupid to me. switch pocket and dual threat qb's to see witch one works better with the offense
