I see they are doing a nice job of beating up on Boise State. Any idea of how we will fare against them next weekend? (They have the longest winning streak in CFB history at the moment).
I feel fairly confident about them. As long as our defense shows up like it did today we'll be fine. Also those little QB runs should be predictable (I hope!)
I hope so! Our d did look awesome today! I would love to see that all year!!!1 We would be almost un stoppable!
Well, they just beat BSU. I think it's official that Washington is for real this year. We better turn up the offense against them or we will leave the West coast with a loss.
i don't think it'll be a high scoring game especially with the way our defense looked! But unfortunately, i can't say we'll win. We looked horrible today.
Yep! I am pretty nervous at the moment! I would HATE to see us play the way we did today, we will get BEAT and badly I am afraid. I hope we can at least play some good OSU ball, and our offense really shows up!
This game is going to depend on how our oline steps up. They are really scaring me. Our offense needs to show up bigtime. Its not gonna be an easy game.
Definitely, our D has only given up 8 points so far and have been pretty physical. I think we can hold Washington under 20 points pretty easily. All we need is our offense to step up. For an early prediction, I'll say: Ohio State-24 Washington-13
Tressel ball returns in this game fella's. If we can't get something going early, we're going to ride our D again, pound Beanie and play for good field posistion. I think our D will be able to keep up with UW's offense, but UW's D looks quick and impressive. They are going to blitz all day til we find a way to stop them. To be honest with you all, i'm 65/35 on this one after watching both teams today. Ohio State - 17 Washington - 7
Game 3: Ohio State vs. Washington (9/15) September 15, 2007 Ohio State @ Washington 3:30 PM | ESPN A tougher opponent and a bigger stage for our Buckeyes. I think we'll need 2 important things to occur in order for us to come out with a win. 1. We MUST limit out turn overs on offense. TOs kill a teams chance at winning. 2. Our offensive line, and our offense as a whole, must get on the same page. We need to establish the run as the Huskies will be coming at us from different angles. This is a huge game for us as it can essentially set our season up and tell us where we're at and were we're going to go. Note: I merged the "Feelings about Washington" thread together with this game talk thread.
Our D Isn't it only 6 points, since the safety doesn't really count. What is up with our O line? We have some big bodies and so good talent there. WHat is going on?
I think we'll be fine if we just decrease the number of turnover's and come up with a new and improved blocking scheme. Too many defenders are getting up in our QB's and RB's faces in the backfield and/or the line of scrimmage.
We have an easy schedule so far. I love it! I am predicting that we win 35-3. Good game on Defense and Brian Robiskie has a sensational game.
did you watch the game yesterday? If our offense plays like yesterday there's no way we'll score 35. if it wasn't for our defense i think we'd lose next week.
We should win another low scoring game (unless the Buckeye offense really surprises me...) provided the defense does not take pointers from Llllloyd Carr and Ron English on how to stop a running QB. As much as I like to laugh at Michigan's misery in their inability to stop a dual threat QB, its really easier said than done. That is exactly what the spread attack scheme is designed to do, "spread" the defenders out all over the field and then exploit a mismatch or "hole" in the defense, and if you have a good mobile quarterback, the advantage gets magnified (eg. Vince Young, Troy Smith) as the QB position becomes another threat. This might be a game where lil animal or Freeman might not get their gaudy stats but their sole responsibility is to make sure Locker, the Washington QB, does not bust out into the open. Suffice to say the rest of the D needs to step up and create some turnovers, a fumble, an INT, something. A constant and furious rush up the middle from the DL is also crucial in making a mobile quarterback nervous. If we can make him one dimensional (in this case running for his life) we've got the game half won.
I hope so. We can contain him, I just don't see us being able to score enough points right now to make it competive if we can't.
