Basketball Buckeyes recruiting 2024 Ohio PF
We mention it here often, but one of the reasons Ryan Day and the Ohio State football team are so dominant on the recruiting landscape is largely due to the coaching staff’s ability to build relationships with recruits early in their recruitment. This mindset is no different for Ohio State on the hardwood, as Chris Holtmann has also proven he is exceptional at targeting talent early on.

It appears the Ohio State men’s basketball Buckeyes are working on one of these early relationships as they target a 2024 Ohio native. Power forward Tyler McKinley has already received plenty of interest from Ohio State, including an unofficial visit, and the Cincinnati native recently spoke with Jake Weingarten of stockrisers.com on how the visit went and his thoughts on the Buckeyes’ program.

McKinley had the following to say when speaking with Weingarten:

“In my opinion, an all-around great program and it has great people all throughout the program. My unofficial went good and I had an amazing time with the players and staff this past weekend.”

It is still very early in McKinley’s recruitment, but he projects to become one of the top recruits in Ohio. Because of this, the Buckeyes are not alone in their efforts. McKinley holds offers from the likes of Miami (OH), Ohio, Cincinnati, West Virginia and South Carolina. He has yet to receive an offer from Ohio State, but one will likely be heading his way sooner than later.

McKinley, like all prospects in the 2024 recruiting class, has yet to receive a star ranking from 247Sports, but one will surely be attributed to him when the class rankings are revealed.
