    No. 375 Miles Lockhart | Four-Star Cornerback
Crystal Balls: Ohio State 100% | Commitment Date: July 6
To date, 247 doesn’t list any other schools as being warm in the Chandler, Ariz. native’s recruitment, so it seems like the Buckeyes are solidly in the lead for Lockhart’s services. While the 247Sports Composite Ratings have Lockhart as the No. 375 player and No. 31 cornerback in the country, that is being dragged down by the always bass-ackwards ESPN ratings, which have him unranked. 247’s in-house numbers have him substantially higher at No. 196 overall and No. 18 at his position.

Lockhart is scheduled for an official visit on June 16, less than three weeks before his scheduled commitment date. So, while we likely won’t get a BOOM from him anytime soon, everything is moving in the right direction for him.

MILES LOCKHART TO COMMIT ON JULY 6
One of Ohio State’s top cornerback targets in the 2024 class has set a commitment date. Four-star Arizona cornerback Miles Lockhart announced Monday he’ll be committing on July 6 after he takes his official visits.

Lockhart just completed a two-day visit to OSU on Sunday and Monday and has scheduled an official visit with the Buckeyes for June 24. After taking a spring visit to OSU, the Buckeyes are still considered a clear favorite to land Lockhart ahead of his commitment.

"Every school I go to, I just try to compare like, what they have and what they can offer," Lockhart told Eleven Warriors in February of comparing OSU to other schools. "They just can compete with anybody, obviously they compete for national championships every year, they can give me the education I need. If I go on to the NFL, they'll give me the chance to develop me. It's just a great atmosphere to be in and a great place to be. They offer you a lot of opportunities."

Miles Lockhart left his Ohio State official visit smiling from ear to ear.

The four-star Arizona cornerback had a great experience on his visit to Columbus and said it could not have gone better.

“It was a 10 out of 10 visit. Actually, 11 out of 10,” Lockhart told Eleven Warriors. “I feel like it went great, they covered everything I wanted to. Obviously, I had been there a few times before so they had mostly shown me everything, but the weekend was a really great time.”

Lockhart met Ohio State commits Bryce West and Damarion Witten in person for the first time on his trip and also caught up with priority OSU cornerback target Aaron Scott.

“It was my first time meeting them in person,” Lockhart said. “It was great getting to know them and getting a feel for who they are. They’re really cool.”

On the first night of the visit, both West and Witten committed to the Buckeyes. Both of them in turn then started to give their pitches to Lockhart to join them in Columbus.

“He and Damarion definitely turned into recruiters for sure,” Lockhart said after the pair committed. “They were definitely coming after me hard.”

Lockhart had visited OSU three other times before this weekend and communicates with OSU secondary coach Tim Walton frequently. But he still felt grateful to meet with Walton over the weekend.

“Coach Walton is always great,” Lockhart said. “He’s really the type of guy you want to be your coach. It was really good seeing him and his wife, it’s always great talking with him.”

Lockhart also met with Ryan Day, who echoed the sentiments of the OSU commits and tried to convey to Lockhart how important Ohio State believes he is to its 2024 class.

“We had a meeting, my whole family was in there and he was just connecting with my family and stuff like that,” Lockhart said. “He was telling me how I fit into Ohio State and how much of a priority I am to them.”

Lockhart has openly said since he picked up his offer that Ohio State has been his clear-cut No. 1 choice. There’s no reason to think anything has changed since then, but OSU fans and coaches will find out for sure when he commits on July 6, his grandmother’s birthday.

“She’s always lived here and is always around a lot,” Lockhart said of the significance of his commitment date. “My car that I have came from her. She just really means a lot to me and she got diagnosed with cancer a couple of months back. So I’m just really doing it for her.

“It would be great (to join OSU) really, it’s a great school and they’re still at the top of my list, it’s probably going to be the Buckeyes I’d say.”

LOCKHART READY TO COMMIT ON THURSDAY
One of Ohio State’s top remaining cornerback targets is ready to announce his commitment. Four-star Arizona cornerback Miles Lockhart will reveal his college decision on Thursday at 3 p.m., choosing that day in honor of his grandmother’s birthday.

Ever since he received his offer from Ohio State in June of 2022, Lockhart publicly said the Buckeyes were the clear leader in his recruitment. Twenty-four hours from a decision, they’re still the heavy favorite.

Lockhart took his official visit to Ohio State on June 23 and called the visit an “11/10” experience. He didn’t take any other official visits to any other schools.

“I feel like it went great, they covered everything I wanted to,” Lockhart told Eleven Warriors about the official visit. “Obviously, I had been there a few times before so they had mostly shown me everything, but the weekend was a really great time. Coach Walton is always great. He’s really the type of guy you want to be your coach. It was really good seeing him and his wife, it’s always great talking with him.”
