    SEVYN BANKS, CB
If Banks keeps his name in the NFL draft pool, his draft stock might be the most difficult to forecast of any Ohio State player in this year’s class.

Going into the 2021 season, Banks was projected to be drafted as early as the first round. Those projections were based on a belief that Banks would become a shutdown cornerback this past season, which didn’t happen as Banks was in and out of the lineup and battled injuries throughout the season.

At 6-foot-1 and 200 pounds, Banks still has a great blend of size and athleticism that could entice an NFL team to bet on his potential in the middle to late rounds. Much like Shaun Wade a year ago, however, it’s unlikely Banks will be selected anywhere near as early as some believed he would be before his fourth season at Ohio State began.

    • Sevyn Banks will be "moving on" from the Ohio State football program, Day says. Day said he will have a meeting with Banks and his mom tomorrow.

The hip injury suffered at the end of last season was going to limit the ability to work out at the Combine or Pro Day.

sources confirmed Banks would also need a waiver at this point to return to the Buckeyes. There's more insight in the story about what's next.

Banks was in line to become the next first-round cornerback developed at Ohio State.

He started in all eight games for the Buckeyes as a junior in 2020, recording 23 tackles, six pass deflections, one interception and a fumble recovery returned for a touchdown, ending the season with honorable mention All-Big Ten honors.

But a preseason knee injury limited Banks to eight games and 313 snaps in 2021, per PFF, eclipsed by Cameron Brown and Burke, leading to him entering the transfer portal after withdrawing from the 2022 NFL draft and choosing LSU to spend his redshirt senior season.

However, after two games in which he recorded five tackles and 0.5 tackles for loss, Banks was carted off the field against Auburn, suffering a spinal cord bruise where he would miss five-to-six weeks, according to LSU coach Brian Kelly. Banks has not played since Oct. 1.
