HEAD VS HEART Ohio State assistant wide receivers coach Keenan Bailey was in South Florida on Tuesday, at which time he offered a scholarship to Miami four-star cornerback commit Henry Gray. “Man, it’s actually a dream come true,” Gray told Eleven Warriors. “Ohio State does great things with their defensive backs, and I have been following them for the past few years.” The 6-foot-1, 175-pound Gray is considered the ninth-best cornerback and No. 73 prospect overall in the Class of 2020, as he recorded three interceptions and two pick-sixes at Miramar last season. He transferred to Miami Central back in February and then committed to the Hurricanes one month later. “It was the family aspect,” Gray said. “I felt like the environment was the best thing for me at that time, so I made the move.” Gray has also picked up offers from Arkansas, Auburn, Clemson, Florida, Florida State, Texas A&M and UCF in the months since his pledge. He remains firmly committed to Miami, but added “Ohio State is definitely up there with them.” Gray’s favorite players are New Orleans Saints cornerback Marshon Lattimore and Cleveland Browns cornerback Denzel Ward, who he hopes to meet when he visits campus for the first time.

Henry Gray Miami four-star cornerback Henry Gray seemed destined for Ohio State during the spring, but talks faded as Ohio State grew closer and closer to top cornerbacks in the country, like Lejond Cavazos, Clark Phillips and Elias Ricks. If Ricks doesn’t flip to Ohio State, it wouldn’t be out of the question for Gray to jump on, especially since his recruitment is expected to extend into the fall.
