    FIRST-TEAM ALL-NAME

The staff also extended a scholarship offer on Wednesday evening to Roswell, Georgia, Blessed Trinity Catholic four-star athlete Steele Chambers.

The 6-foot-2, 215-pound Chambers is considered the 33rd-best athlete and No. 330 prospect overall in the Class of 2019, as he's rushed for 2,320 yards and 32 touchdowns in his two-year varsity career as a running back for the Titans. He's also added 153 tackles, five interceptions and 1.5 sacks as a safety.

Chambers holds more than a dozen offers from programs such as Kentucky, Michigan, Michigan State, North Carolina, Stanford and Tennessee. Some schools are recruiting him as a safety, but most — including Ohio State — have him pegged for running back at the next level.

Chambers hopes to make it to a game in Columbus this season, but the Buckeyes will still have an opportunity to impress even if he doesn't. He is expected to be in attendance when Ohio State travels to Michigan in late November as a guest of the Wolverines.

    THE NEXT GREAT ONE?

Roswell, Georgia, Blessed Trinity Catholic four-star athlete Steele Chambers, meanwhile, thought assistant coordinator and area recruiter Kerry Coombs was just calling to wish him luck during his game on Friday. Instead, however, the energetic coach offered him a chance to play for the Buckeyes.

“An offer from Ohio State is always huge, especially for a running back,” Chambers told Eleven Warriors.

The 6-foot-2, 215-pound Chambers is considered the 33rd-best athlete and No. 330 prospect overall in the Class of 2019, as he's rushed for 2,320 yards and 32 touchdowns in his two-year varsity career as a running back for the Titans. As you can imagine, Chambers is often in contact with Coombs. He also talks quite frequently with Meyer, who can't help but to compare him to former Buckeyes running back Ezekiel Elliott.

“[They] called me a couple weeks ago and said they were very close to making an offer,” Chambers said. “I know that the coaches have been evaluating my film weekly. [Running backs] coach [Tony] Alford reached out to me after the offer and told me he is excited to get to know me and my family.”

Chambers, who has also never been on campus, is currently working out the details to attend the Oct. 28 game against Penn State.

“I would like to meet the coaches face-to-face and see the facilities,” he said.

    MAN OF STEELE

The doors at the Woody Hayes Athletic Center will only continue to revolve over the next few weeks as we head toward the Spring Game, as the staff has invited prospects from all over the country to attend a practice.

Roswell, Georgia, Blessed Trinity Catholic four-star athlete Steele Chambers will soon be among them, as he told Eleven Warriors he’ll be on campus with his parents on Friday.

“[I’m] gonna have a heart-to-heart with coach [Urban Meyer] about where he sees me fitting into the program,” Chambers said.

The 6-foot-2, 215-pound Steele is considered the 31st-best athlete and No. 340 prospect overall in the Class of 2019, as he rushed for 1,301 yards and 23 touchdowns and recorded 70 tackles, six tackles for a loss, two sacks and one interception while leading the Titans to the state championship last season. He holds more than two dozen offers from programs such as Alabama, Auburn, Clemson, Georgia, LSU, Michigan, Notre Dame, Penn State and Stanford, but programs seem to be torn on whether or not he’s a running back or outside linebacker at the next level.

Chambers is a bit indecisive, too.

“It depends on the program,” he said when asked which position he’d rather play.

The Buckeyes offered Chambers a scholarship last October, and he made his first and only trip to campus for the 39-38 win over the Nittany Lions just a few weeks later. He also attended The Game as a guest of the Wolverines.

Chambers has maintained contact with Meyer, Grinch and running backs coach Tony Alford ever since. If everything goes well, he’ll probably make it back for an official visit this fall.

Jerome Baker clone. He could play RB, but he’s a LB IMO. Good pickup.
