The talent and experience on next year's team is going to possibly be the best that we've seen at OSU since the mid 90's.... Ridiculous 2-deep... Barrett/Jones Elliott/Samuel Marshall/Wilson/P Campbell Thomas/Dixon/Gibson C Smith/Brown Vannett/Baugh Decker/Lisle Price/Burrell Boren/Knox Elflein/Farris Jones/Trout ___________________ Bosa/Cornell Washington/Munger Schutt/Hill Hubbard/Holmes Lee/Baker McMillian/Hilliard Perry/Booker Apple/Conley Powell/Burrows Bell/E. Smith Webb/Lattimore _____________ Nuernberger Johnston There is so much other talent on the roster that isn't even listed above... Shit's gettin real around the Woody....
Cut Burrows some slack. The guy was only a sophmore that didn't see any time his freshman year. I am confident with having a year like this year he will continue to grow and should improve.
That's true but if you continue to make playoff appearances and winning National titles you will draw in top talent that could potentially play year 1. It's a double edge sword but the elite programs always lose great players but they always draw great players.
I saw this question on twitter thought I would post it here... If you could pick the teams we would play in the playoffs next year who would it be? Mine are LSU and USC.
Texas and USC I know probably no chance (Texas) but I love traditional match ups. The Sugar Bowl this year was tradition gold.
Great question. Alabama has been on the top of my list for a long time. I would love to play TCU and LSU, I want to play LSU to kick the crap out of another SEC team, especially to get payback. I want to play TCU to shut them up. If I could pick other schools I want to play that I just don't like and would love to pound, by won't make it into the playoffs it would be: Texas, USC, Florida, Notre Dame, Florida state.
You can say the same thing for bell though, it wasn't until the Clemson game he got time. I think burrows will be fine in the long run.
There probably won't be an SEC team in the playoffs this year. Predicting TOSU-TCU AZ-Clem. AZ would be a big draw in the desert.
#1 - By a country mile....the 2015 QB situation....what to do? --- Brax, JT, Cardale, Gibson...???? --Braxton transfers. Cardale and JT battle for the QB with Cardale being the clubhouse leader. #2 - The coaching search....with great success comes coaching attrition....About half of the assistant coaches (Herman, Warriner, Ash, Fick, etc) are being courted for either HC jobs, or coordinator jobs across the country....who stays, who goes, who replaces the departed??? --I think we are probably going to retain most of this staff aside from Herman (who's already been replaced). #3 - The Caucasion Bullets --- Bosa and Hubbard @ DE will be GOAT status. They have the potential to (Bosa already is) be possibly the 2 best rush DE's in college football opposite each other on the OSU DL... --Don't see Hubbard starting here. What about Lewis? He seems like he's pretty high on the depth chart right now. I also wouldn't be surprised if this is a position where one of the true freshman get some reps. Specifically Cornell who is enrolling early. #4 - Starting CB opposite Apple --- Does Conley emerge as a playmaker, or does the young Lattimore or Webb steal the show? Don't count Armani Reeves out either as a SR... --I think this is Reeves' job to lose. Like Lewis at DE, he seemed to be the next to get reps during the last few games. However Conley played in every game this year and might be poised to take over. #5 - Replacing Devin Smith...say what you want about Devin, but you can't take away the threat that he was with taking the lid off of the opposing defense....does Torrence Gibson become that guy, Jonnie Dixon, maybe even move Jalin Marshall outside, or does a sleeper like James Clark emerge as the deep threat on the outside? --I really think Mike Thomas emerges as a big time playmaker. Jalin will assume the same role. Corey Smith will also be heavily in the mix. Dontre Wilson and Curtis Samuel could also see some time in the slot and running jet sweeps. Noah Brown will see more time too. Maybe a surprise youngster could emerge here too (Torrance Gibson?!?). Braxton Miller?!?! #6 --- 'Kwon tha truth --- With Curtis Grant graduating, sophomore Reakwon McMillian will step up as the starting MLB. McMillian looks like he has what it takes to be an All-B1G caliber player in the middle. It's been a few years since the Buckeyes have had a dominant force at MLB. McMillian has a chance to be one of the best ever. Should be the leading tackler for the nest 2-3 seasons before heading to the NFL. #LinebackerU --This is an easy call and an instant upgrade as far as athleticism, mean streak, and fear factor. Kwon is going to be fun to watch! #7 - Captains --- Heuerman, Bennett, & the Grants will be gone....who will take over the leadership as upperclassmen? Decker and Vannett on offense, Perry and Powell on defense??? Will Braxton be here?? JT? --Adolphus, Decker, Vannett, Perry, Boren? #8 - The OL --- With Baldwin graduating, we will be in need of a true OT to take over. Assuming that Decker doesn't go pro, and everybody else returns, it should be an above average OL in 2015. It looks to be a 2-way battle for RT with Jamarco Jones and Evan Lisle. I would personally prefer a OL from left to right of Decker, Price, Elflein, Jones, Lisle....don't count out Boren, Knox, Trout, & Burrell for playing time... --Decker, Price, Boren, Elflein, Jones. Not sure why you didn't have Boren there. #9 - WR rotation --- With mainstays Devin and Evan graduating, there will be two spots up for grabs in the WR rotation. Jalin Marshall and Dontre Wilson are too good to keep off of the gridiron so I expect to see some packages with both on the field at the same time with Marshall at WR and Dontre at the H-Back. Micheal Thomas will be the leading returner and will need a threat on the opposite side of the field to help prevent double-teams. ^ See #5. Look for RS Fr. Terry McLauren to make a splash, with Corey Smith and Jonnie Dixon also being solid contributors... --See #5 #10 - Game 1, Virginia Tech --- 'Nuf said.
My 2015 predictions: 1. Ohio State - Get the #1 seed by running the table and being the best team in America. 2. TCU - They run the table in a bad Big12 being the only other undefeated team. 3. USC - They have a lot of good young players and return their QB. They'll win the Pac-12. 4a. Florida State - They return a lot of solid young players, just need to find a replacement for Winston. 4b. Miami - I know I know, they're awful on defense but they have the talent to win the ACC and have an easy schedule. Kaaya will be one of the top QB's next year 4c. LSU - Winning the SEC West and championship game will put them in the discussion.

Everyone we say that and it never happens. It would be nice for someone different to emerge from the SEC. Personally I think it will take UGA firing Richt. The program has gone as high as it can with him. Sometimes it takes the next guy to really break through, example JT taking over for Coop
#OSU will still be losing some key players as they look to repeat as National Champs for the 2015 season: http://t.co/ME18HnrYkE— Rivals (@Rivals) January 17, 2015
I will say it again. Alabama! You beat them twice in 2 years it not only puts you on the top but to say you beat Saban twice would be something. Second choice would be any other SEC team. Since we can't schedule these guys I want to see them in the post season. I think everyone agrees the SEC is the top of the mountain but to consistently beat their top teams says something about our program.
