Big numbers from Philly NFSC
RB David Williams cements status at Philadelphia Nike Football SPARQ Combine
The 2012 Nike Football SPARQ Combine tour continued Sunday at the Nova Care Complex, home of the Philadelphia Eagles, as just under 1,200 participants were tested and competed for potential berths in The Opening. For the second combine in a row, one of the headline performers coming into the event more than lived up to his advance billing.
David Williams out of West Catholic (Philadelphia), a 6-foot-0 ½, 183-pound running back, is already a known name in the area, earning all-state honors last fall and accumulating double-digit scholarship offers already in mid-February of his junior year.
Williams is no stranger to the Nike Combine circuit, having attended the Philadelphia event each of the previous two offseasons. On Sunday he put forth his best effort yet, and may have cemented his status as the top back in the Northeast, posting the day's second-best SPARQ Rating at 111.30, which included a 4.44 40-yard dash.
"I worked with a speed coach this summer and into this season and the technique really improved my times," said Williams. "Staying low and exploding out of the gate is key. The hard work paid off and it's only going to motivate me to work harder this spring."
Williams reports offers from Notre Dame, Virginia, Wisconsin and South Carolina among others. With West Catholic closing in the midst of a wave of Catholic schools in the metro area shutting down after this school year, Williams said he is considering both LaSalle (Wyndmoor, Pa.) and POWERADE FAB 50 powerhouse and PIAA AAA state champs Archbishop Wood (Warminster, Pa.) for his senior season.

I like him slightly better than Green. Williams is perfect for Urban's system.

RB Williams picks up OSU offer
February, 16, 2012
By Jared Shanker
ESPNU Watch List running back David Williams (Philadelphia/West Catholic) picked up an offer from Ohio State on Thursday, he told ESPN.com in a text message.
Williams wrote that assistant Ed Warriner sent him the offer.
"He said after watching the tape with the staff they loved what they seen," Williams wrote.
Williams is one of the top prospects in Pennsylvania and the East. He recently ran a 4.4 40-yard dash at the Philadelphia Nike SPARQ combine.
