Default 2011-12 General Bowl Discussion

Boy the BCS system is really F'd up. MSU loses in the B1G Championship as one of the top two B1G teams and their rival Michigan get the BCS bowl for just sitting on their ass at home? Terrible

In other news, ESPiN must be celebrating their SEC contract with an all-SEC bowl. Weird how none of the anaylsts thinks it should have been OSU. Its almost like they are in lock step

Record 10 teams from the B1G 10 are going to a bowl this year.

This is some serious bull $hit. Alabama had their chance at home and failed.

Hope you like bad offense (or as ESPN likes to call it "The game of the century", take 2) cause thats what you will see for the championship game

The BCS definitely f'd this one up, again. Okla St is definitely deserving of a chance.

MAC got 5 teams in. Here's to the Big Ten going 9-1. SCum losing of course!!!

Don't like that Iowa/Choklahoma matchup.

No doubt man, I root for the Big Ten but never Michigan. OK probably Wisconsin too, because I feel the Rose Bowl will be easy money.

Even worse, they were talking all Saturday like it would be LSU vs Bama EVEN IF LSU HAD LOST TO GEORGIA

This is getting ridiculous beyond expression, and yet the douches on ESPN and my retarded friends on facebook keep parroting $hit like "Well the SEC is the best conference in football". Is the SEC the best conference? Maybe, but they're not THAT much better! I just can't believe it. It's like trying to argue with a 2 year old!

Seriously though. I really wish Georgia had won and LSU and Bama still played for the National Championship. Because then every university president in every other conference around the country would have reason to be seriously pissed and hopefully should gang up and riot over the unfairness of it all.

#OccupyBCSStreet #OccupySECStreet #OccupyESPNStreet We are the 99%!!!!!!!!!

Seriously though. Until they have a playoff, I will never consider a national championship valid again until they have a playoff - with the one exception of the years when there are clearly only 2 undefeated teams and those teams play in the NC game - no matter what conference they're from. I'm so fed up with this SEC bull crap, I say let the Boise State's in. But in years like this, nobody is champion without a playoff.

Since 1950, tOSU is 33-28-2 against TTUN
tOSU has 6 National Championships to TTUN's 1
tOSU has 6 Heisman Trophies to TTUN's 2
tOSU has 11 Rose/BCS Bowl* Wins to TTUN's 8
* I'm only counting BCS bowls from 1998 on, not early wins in bowls that later became BCS bowls. I'm also not counting the 2011 Sugar Bowl that was vacated. None of these numbers include the 2010-2011 season.

tOSU has 26 Big Ten Championships including 14 solo and 12 shared
TTUN's has 23 Big Ten Championships, including 11 solo and 12 shared.

tOSU's most recent Big Ten Championship: 2009
TTUN's most recent Big Ten Championship: 2004

Since 2001:
tOSU has 6 Big Ten Championships including 5 solo and 1 shared
TTUN has 2 Big Ten Championships, including 1 solo and 1 shared.

I am so sick of all the praise about the SEC.

Outside of LSU & Alabama, the SEC falls back down to par with the rest of CFB.

Arkansas, South Carolina, Georgia, & Auburn are the rest of the BCS Top 25. Are they good teams? Yes. But they aren't head and shoulders above any of the other top teams in college football.

I like when Herbie talks about them. All you have to do is say SPEED and talk about how they play in SPACE and you too can be an ESPiN analyst

We should enjoy Urban Meyer while we can, it won't be long until he loses his SEC credentials. I would say around the time when Spring Ball starts he'll just be another Big Ten scrub in the eyes of ESPiN. It could make for an interesting sociological experiment

I have no interest in the Championship game... but I believe they got it right.

If the purpose of the BCS is to give us a game featuring the best two teams, they got it right again. LSU is the #1 beyond any shadow of a doubt. And when it comes to Alabama vs Okie State... well, they both have one loss, whose was worse? There's your championship.

Would I rather watch LSU/Ok State? Yes, but if the purpose of the BCS is to find the two best teams, they have the right teams. If we want to ad stipulations that would prevent two teams from the same conference, then we need to revisit the purpose of the BCS.
