Watkins enjoys return trip to OSU.................The Ohio State coaching staff hasn't targeted many sophomores but Galion (Ohio) athlete Dareian Watkins is one of the few generating some early buzz.

Star Soph Has Great Time At OSU.................QB/ATH Dareian Watkins, a top 2014 prospect, came away from the Ohio State-Penn State game with plenty of positive things to say.

This kid looks tiny, but he is just 16.

Got some wheels though!

Watkins has been invited to bowl practices.............OSU is showing a ton of interest...............

I know a few people from Galion and they all think very highly of him, he's a good kid. I'll be keeping a close eye on how this kid develops not just because he can play some ball, he's from my neck of the woods.

I really like the game he put together between 1:00 and 3:15... It's nice seeing a small city school like Galion have better talent and straight outplay a team like Mansfield Senior. Putting aside the fact that Senior is my arch-rival from when I was in High school... they're a bunch of classless thugs both as players and fans. There have been brawls between opposing players, fans or both break out at something like 20 games over the last 5 or 6 years. Just no class at all. I bring that up because that's worse than the normal once or twice a year that's been common for Senior since the early and mid '60s when my dad was in HS. My senior year one of my good buddies was our Starting RB... a guy from Senior intentionally dove head first into Ryan's knee and broke his leg because he had broke free for a 66 yard TD the drive before. He then taunted Ashland fans and students on the way to the locker room after the game by shouting "That outta learn that cracka from scoring on us!" Yeah... fine, fine tradition Senior has...


So I love seeing good kids beat Senior whomever they play for. This kid looks pretty good considering he's a sophomore and will probably still grow another inch or few in the next couple years, grow into his feet, and get even faster and more agile.

This kid must have some wheels for the staff to be going after him strong during this time with the '12 class still needing final touches and '13 just getting started, and he's a '14er.

Dude, at 16, he's probably not done growing and he has already clocked a 4.53... that's pretty quick.

There's another kid from Ashland that's graduating this year, Marquise Jones, I'd say he and Dareian Watkins are the two fastest guys in that area of the state.

That would be my guess, he has a good arm and all, but he's a much more dangerous playmaker on the edge.
