Default B1G removes Paterno from Championship Trophy

Great idea I picked up on in a Husker thread. The name of the B1G championship trophy is the Stagg-Paterno trophy.

Sign this petition to remove Paterno's name from the trophy.

Petition: Commissioner, Big Ten Conference: Remove the name Paterno from the Big Ten Football Championship Trophy. | Change.org

CBS is already reporting that the Amos Alonzo Stagg family is already having qualms with being associated with the POS.

Proposed change: The Stagg-Hayes Trophy.

Come on guys, you know that's best.

Or maybe the Hayes-Schembechler Trophy

Anyone else notice Baus shaved his beard? I think a memorial for his beard is very necessary.

In all seriousness it should just be renamed the Amos Alonzo Stagg Trophy. Joe Pa getting equal footing with Stagg was always a joke anyways. I mean he's also in the basketball hall of fame, Stagg was a true legend!!!!

Here are some of his contributions:

Innovations in football
The following is a list of innovations Stagg introduced to American football. Where known, the year of its first use is annotated in parentheses. Stagg is noted as a 'contributor' if he was one of a group of individuals responsible for a given innovation.
7–2–2 defense (1890)[11]
center snap (1894; John Heisman claimed to have invented it in 1893)[12]
onside kick (1894; possibly contributor)[12][13]
quick kick (1896)[12]
spiral snap (1896; contributor alongside Walter Camp and George Washington Woodruff)[12]
placement kick (1897; Stagg believed Princeton used it earlier)[12]
tackling dummy (1899)[14]
Statue of Liberty play (1908)[15]
T formation (contributor)[16]
forward pass (contributor alongside Eddie Cochems and Walter Camp)[12]
man in motion[13]
unbalanced line[13]
line shift[13]
sleeper play[13]
quarterback keeper[16]
delayed buck[17]
linebacker position[17]
hip pads[17]
numerical designation of plays[9]
lateral pass[9]
padded goalposts[9]
varsity letters[9]
End-around[9]

Paterno's name to be removed from Big Ten title trophy | Lion Eyes | 11/14/2011

It's now official! And rightfully so at that! Today the Big Ten commissioners announced that Joe Pa's moniker will not grace the Big Ten Conference Championship Trophy. Thank you B1G for having a brain.
