Trubisky is on his own, and so far, has been up to the task of finding open receivers and openings to run. He has completed 67 percent of his passes for 1,566 yards and 17 touchdowns, and he has 50 carries for 235 yards and five TDs. He has been sacked five times and has thrown eight interceptions.
Trubisky likely will be a major-college recruit. He has grades good enough to attract interest already from the likes of Northwestern and Duke. Kyle said Trubisky reminds him of former St. Ignatius QB Dave Ragone, who had a stellar career at Louisville.
"He's got a shot at being a really good college football player," Trivisonno said.
Equally as impressive as Trubisky's strong arm and legs have been his grasp of the offense and leadership. He has presence.
He also offers a fair perspective on himself.
"My coaches are always telling me, the offense goes as I go, so I try to chase perfection for everyone else who is working as hard as I do," said Trubisky, the son of former Perry quarterback Dave Trubisky. "I like to say about myself that I'm coachable. I listen to my coaches and I'm going to make the positive play. I try to make all the right plays.
"I need to improve on not forcing throws and eliminate those one or two plays where our receivers are not on the same page. That's usually how our interceptions come -- miscommunication."

Led by standout quarterback Mitch Trubisky, the Cardinals continued their streak of scoring at least 38 points in every game this season. The junior was 23-for-36 passing for 320 yards and three touchdowns, and rushed for 65 yards and one score.
"We've seen a number of good quarterbacks this year, but he's outstanding," Blue Devils coach Luke Beal said. "What makes Mitch so dangerous is he's able to make plays with his feet. There were times we had great pressure on him, but he made people miss because he's so big (6-foot-3), strong and quick."

The Mentor scoring machine continued to churn Friday night behind junior standout quarterback Mitch Trubisky.
Trubisky made good on 14 of 24 passes for 259 yards and touchdown passes to Warren Ashton, Cameron Kavan and Brandon Fritts in a 38-7 Northeast Ohio Conference Valley Division victory over host Strongsville.
Kavan also ran the ball four times for 43 yards and a touchdown as the Cardinals -- ranked No. 1 in The Plain Dealer and state poll, 22nd in MaxPreps, 25th in Rivals and 38th in ESPN -- accumulated 455 yards in total offense.
The win clinches at least a title tie for Mentor.

Mentor QB Mitch Trubisky, Urban Meyer could be good fit
Published: Tuesday, November 29, 2011
By Mark Podolski
Thursday is an important day for college football coaches, as it's the first day they can call potential recruits.
Mentor junior quarterback Mitch Trubisky expects plenty of calls that day, and they might include one from Ohio State coach Urban Meyer.
There might not be a better potential fit between college coach and high school quarterback in Ohio than Meyer and Trubisky.
In 2001, when Meyer was named Bowling Green's coach, Mentor coach Steve Trivisonno and his staff spent a few days at the school learning the spread offense.
Said Trivisonno about the spread offense Mentor employs now: "Most everything we got came from (Meyer)."
In other words, Trubisky is running a Meyer-inspired offense at Mentor.
Then there's Trubisky himself, a 6-foot-3 strong-armed QB who amassed more than 4,400 yards of total offense and 53 touchdowns this fall as a junior. He's already generated plenty of interest from an assortment of Division I programs, and is intrigued by OSU's hiring of Meyer.
"I'm a big fan of Ohio State," said Trubisky. "I hope they keep showing interest (in me). I love the system, and I love that Urban Meyer is the coach there."
Trubisky visited Ohio State twice this fall for the Michigan State and Wisconsin games. He also attended the Buckeyes' camp last summer, and was a guest of Michigan State for the Spartans' win over the Badgers.
The Mentor quarterback's top schools right now are, in order, West Virginia, Michigan State, Ohio State, Boston College, Wisconsin and Duke.

High school football: Mentor QB Trubisky is offered a scholarship by Ohio State
Mitch Trubisky is an all-state quarterback and an Ohio State football fan.
Needless to say, it doesn't get any bigger than drawing the interest of the Buckeyes during the recruiting process.
Sunday was a big day for the 6-foot-3, 200-pound All-Ohioan. Trubisky, who went to the Ohio State campus in Columbus for a Junior Day visit along with other high school standouts, confirmed a scholarship offer is on the table for him to play at Ohio State.
"It's humbling and a great honor that a school like Ohio State thinks I can play football at that level," Trubisky said. "I saw the campus, toured the facilities. It's very exciting."
Trubisky will have a tough act to follow next fall after setting school records in just about every category and several area passing marks in 2011. In 13 games, Trubisky threw for 3,845 yards and 41 touchdowns, and he rushed for 611 yards and 12 TDs. He was named the Division I Northeast Lakes District offensive player of the year, WJW player of the year, won the Greater Cleveland Sports Award for high school athlete of the year, and shared the Lake County Touchdown Club offensive player of the year honors with South junior running back Kareem Hunt.
Trubisky and Hunt shared the Tony Fisher Award in 2011 as The News-Herald players of the year.
Trubisky guided the high-octane Mentor offense to an 11-2 record and the No. 1 Associated Press ranking in Ohio for one week. The Cardinals lost in a Division I regional final to eventual state champion St. Ignatius.
Mentor coach Steve Trivisonno, who saw Cardinals defensive end Tom Strobel accept a scholarship offer from rival Michigan this past season, said the offer for Trubisky is a big deal for the junior and for the program, and well-deserved.
"I think when a school like Ohio State and a coach like Urban Meyer show that kind of interest, it is a reflection on what kind of year Mitch had," Trivisonno said. "When you start talking about playing quarterback at Ohio State, that is huge. He is a quality kid and absolutely deserves it."

Roback is nothing. Went to the same HS that I did. All they do is throw short passes which ups his completion rate. He doesn't throw anything long and when you get in his face, he chokes. Whitmer destroyed him and proved what a fraud he is.
