Braxton Miller expected to play Saturday

By Adam Rittenberg

Ohio State quarterback Braxton Miller is expected to play this week at No. 16 Illinois after leaving Saturday's loss to Nebraska with a sprained right ankle.

A team spokesman told ESPN.com that Miller will play against the Illini.

Miller will be listed as the Buckeyes' starting quarterback ahead of Joe Bauserman on the depth chart, which will be released later Monday. Miller has started Ohio State's last three games after Bauserman started the first three.

The freshman had a breakout performance in the first 2½ quarters at No. 14 Nebraska, recording 91 rushing yards on 10 carries and completing 5 of 8 passes for 95 yards and a touchdown. He suffered the ankle injury midway through the third quarter and did not return.

Ohio State led 27-13 at the time of Miller's injury but went on to lose 34-27. Bauserman completed just 1 of 10 pass attempts in relief of Miller.

Hopefully Miller Time is healed up pretty good. The threat of him running is what opens up his passing game. If he can cut and burst we should be ok.

We will need the ground game this week, especially if the wind is bad.

Oh Bee Jay -

Thanks for starting this thread so we can turn the page on that depressing loss to Nebraska.

I'll try to enjoy the role of potential season-ruiner for once.

Miller Time is listed as the starter on the depth chart that was released. I think we will see him at close to full-go.

Let's just hope he has a much better pain tolerance than Beanie Baby did.

I hope he slides more because he doesn't have TPs size although he looks to have more heart.

He needs to do a better job of getting out of bounds when he is outside and get down and ball security when he is in the middle...............that will come with time............

I was completely suprised by his performance on Saturday......I think the game slowed down for him a bit.............

There is no doubt in my mind if he was not injured, we hang on for the win.....

Just unfortunate...........

You guys all thought I was crazy for not only thinking we had a chance, but actually expecting them to win. I OBVIOSLY didn't expect us to get out to that kind of start on the road though.

I just don't think that Nebraska is a great team, they're solid but u still say they finish no better than 4-4 in the B1G.
