David Perkins is a transfer from Kalamazoo Central who boasts a 36.5 vertical jump. 10.1 broad, 16 reps of 185-lbs on the bench and a 4.15 shuttle.
He finished his junior season with 783 yards on 85 carries, ten receptions for 180 yards (six total TDs) and 63 tackles, 13 sacks and 21 tackles for loss. Perkins says he can bench 325-pounds, squat 450 and claims a 39-inch vertical jump.

Those are some pretty impressive measurables. Any tape on this young man? Those are really good defensive numbers too.. does he project more to offense or defense more at this point?

Perkins was once a Notre Dame verbal but opened his recruitment back-up and reportedly will visit Ohio State in January................

Indiana athlete likely to see the Vols.............Tennessee is slowly emerging in the recruitment of South Bend, Indiana athlete David Perkins. Thanks to linebackers coach Peter Sirmon the Vols have placed themselves squarely in the middle of a race that will go deep into January. Sirmon was in Indiana on Monday night and Perkins raved about the visit.

I like Perkins as a fast OLB, like Shazier. Or even a big safety or star.

i would say star at this point. he's going to need to pack some weight on to play LB.

Perkins reminds me of Lavonte David that plays LBer at Nebraska.
