Default Ohio State vs Georgia in 2020 and 2021

Ohio State, Meeechigan, Penn State on Georgia’s future schedule? | CollegeFootballTalk

It would be nice to see an SEC team come north for once.

I believe we also have Tennessee coming up too. Gotta give it to GA though, they played Boise St before too....Id love the Bucks to put TCU or Boise St on the schedule.

We were scheduled to play TCU last year but they backed out.

We don't play Tennessee until 2018/19.

I don't think Boise St was quite the same program when they visited Georgia.

We tried to do a home and home with Florida and Bama, and they both said no. I heard a rumor we were talking to LSU and Georgia, so now this makes more sense!

I thought Georgia and SCum agreed to play in the future last year. I know the wolverweenies play Bama in 2012.

Georgia plans two football games against Ohio State

2:18 pm December 28, 2010, by Tim Tucker

Georgia has signed a memorandum of understanding to play football games against Ohio State in the 2020 and 2021 seasons, UGA athletic director Greg McGarity said today.

“I know that’s a long time away,” McGarity said, “but bottom line is you’ve got to have some of those things in place.”

He added: “Not all of the details are worked out as far as seats and things — just the memorandum that we would basically play each other, home and home, in ‘20 and ‘21.”

McGarity said he and Ohio State athletic director Gene Smith signed the agreement.

One of the games will be played in Georgia’s Sanford Stadium and the other at Ohio State, McGarity said. He said it hasn’t been determined yet which year the game will be played at which site.

“We haven’t figured that out yet,” he said. “We know we’re going to play each other on campus, and we’ll f igure all that stuff out in a year, two years. Who knows what the landscape will look like in 2020? But you’ve got to plan that far in advance to do things.”

He said the games will come within “the first two weekends” of each season. “Before SEC play starts,” he said. “You don’t want to play Ohio State in the middle of your SEC season.”

Georgia has never played Ohio State in a regular-season game. The teams’ only meeting was in the Citrus Bowl in Orlando following the 1992 season. Georgia won that game 21-14.

“I think it will excite people to think of Ohio State between the hedges and for us to go up to Columbus,” McGarity said. “I think it’s something you can look forward to. All those 8-year olds out there can look forward to playing in the game.”

A long ways away but should be a good series. Who knows what the CFB scene will look like in 10 years. Playoffs? BCS? Programs?

Wow, I figured they'd schedule PSU and MSU, but really didn't expect them to schedule us.

It's easy to say that you're going to schedule home and homes with the Big Ten and mention OSU among the possible teams, but it's a whole other thing to schedule the team that's been the flagship of the conference for the past 10 years.
