Jadeveon Clowney (Rock Hill, S.C./South Pointe), the No. 1 prospect in the country, is one of the most talented defensive end prospects to come along in the past few years.
"(Clowney) probably has 40 to 50 FBS offers," South Pointe coach Bobby Carroll said. "He has the two in-state schools, Clemson and South Carolina. He has all the big boys, Alabama, Florida State, Ohio State, Miami, he's still considering them all."
Ohio State is the newcomer to the party having started to make its push in the middle of September. Carroll said Clowney is listening to the Buckeyes' pitch, though recruiting is not his main focus at this point.

You never know. JT does have this magical charm over parents when they come to visit and that usually gives up a fighting chance

Never say never. Anything can happen if you get this kid (and his family) on campus.

you can say Never on this kid it doesnt matter how good a recruiter Tressel is or how great it is to be on Campus its nothing more then a courtousy visit and im not the only one who is thinking this
Mike Ferrell-
Clowney and the Buckeyes
With the recent rumors of Jadeveon Clowney and Ohio State talking, do you think that the Buckeyes have a realistic shot at landing him?
- Charles from Fort Bragg, N.C.
Charles, I have read the rumors and things change very quickly in recruiting, but in speaking to Jadeveon in person a few weeks ago, he wasn't looking north at all. South Carolina and Alabama are still his top two in my opinion, despite rumors of Auburn replacing the Tide. I think LSU and Auburn are in the next group and then its Miami and the rest. I'd even be surprised if he took an official visit to Ohio State, but if he does then things can get interesting. But right now I'd put the chances he ends up as a Buckeye as very slim.
and that was as of 10/1 after the rumor of him asking if he could visit which hasnt even been set up yet
also a few insiders at Buckeyeplanet (HotMic and WADC45 who are almost spot on with recruits) also agree he's a pipe dream

I'll reserve judgement/hope until we find out for sure if he visits us officially or not.

Guys is a terror and would love to have him on board
I've also read a lot about him and it seems that he/his coach approached Tressel and NOT the other way around. So I'm not sure why he'd give us a courtesy visit since Tressel had already given up his efforts.
Of course it's a long shot, but if we can get him on campus for say....the Michigan game, why not? if it's a pipe dream, so what, let me dream :)

He contacted us................we didn't start recruiting him until he made initial contact..............
If he makes an official visit then I would say he is interested in tOSU and not just making a visit for the heck of it.........besides we already played Miami.............what other big game is there at home besides Michigan and not sure what is interest would be in that game for a southern kid..........
Not sure if he makes a visit, but he initiated the contact FWIW..........
