This is absurd....he intentionally tried to blind a guy....and he's suspended for the 1st half of a game

Which is why I've never been on the bandwagon of wanting to replace Tressel with Urban Meyer. For him to allow Spikes to just get away with something so egregious with only half a game suspension, I wouldn't want him anywhere near this program. This is only showing me more and more how the SEC is either turning a blind side to all that's going on or it's just plain ignorant.

Suspending him for a half of football is comical at best....................he should have been suspended for at least a full game.............nice example they set down there in Florida..............

I am one of the few who didn't protest the Big Ten's suspension of Kurt Coleman, and still am. But, what Coleman did is nothing compared to this. This should be a one game suspension, minimum.

This reminds me of Robert Reynolds choking that Wisconsin quarterback a little while back. Reynolds got a one game suspension from that IIRC.

It's ridiculous that he's only being suspended for 1 half. This doesn't set a good example.

Wasn't Haynesworth suspended for like 2-4 games in the NFL for stomping on that guys head?

You guys are forgetting he plays in the SEC; I am suprised they did not name him conference D-player of the week. The crime is he got caught, not what he did.

this is a load of crap coleman gets 1 game for a questionable hit and spikes gets one half for trying to blind a man. something is terribly wrong here and urban should have done more than that. i would be ashamed to be a gator right now

Since Meyer won't give an appropriate suspension, it's time for the SEC to step in and correct this.
