Default Osu ticket idea.

Quote:
"As a single mom, I'd LOVE to be able to take my kids, just once, to a real OSU game," Rebecca wrote. "There's not much my son and I share an interest in, but we do watch the OSU games on TV together. Seeing one in the 'Shoe would be the best Mom/Son bonding session ever! Sometimes the bigwigs at work will sell their tickets, but they want full price, which is not an option for me. I sincerely hope that some big corporate types see your column and take you up on the idea."

If local companies aren't willing to make this work, a lot of people seem willing to try it on their own. One guy offered to create a Web site to serve as a kind of clearinghouse for this and maintain it at his cost. Another offered $3,500, his cost for attending two BCS title games, an amount he hoped would allow 175 people to enjoy $20 tickets. Sunny 95 radio personality Shawn Ireland said she would "see if we can implore our listeners who have season tickets to give them up for one of the early games to those who have never had the chance to go." Developer Robert Weiler came up with the idea of allowing "season ticket-holders to check off a 'donated' game, which could be one of the first two of the season."
The rest of the info is in the link. However I would love to see this actually happen and get the opportunity to go to a real Buckeye game! How awesome would that be?!

You've seriously never been to a game at Ohio Stadium?

Two full price tickets would be about 130 dollars. But if you go down to the shoe an hour before the game and buy tickets from a scalper, you could probably get two for 100 dollars. If it is a game against a crappy team you could get them for 80 dollars. It's really not that hard to get tickets if you really want to go to the game, you just have to shell out more than 50 bucks...but it's worth it, especially if you're taking a kid with you.

You sound like you would no better than I so you really think you can get 2 tickets for, say the game against Ohio or Troy for around $100 from a scalper before the game?

Where do the scalpers get the tickets from?

You'd be surprised how available tickets are. If your willing to spend money you'll have no problem finding tickets.

According to my dad I went to one when I was really little but I barely even remember that. I want to go to one that I will actually remember.

You could almost surely get two tickets for $100. Scalpers have to get rid of the tickets before the game anyways (unless, of course, they want to go) so they will have no choice but to sell them.

The secondary market for tickets on ebay has gotten out of control. Going to Wisconsin, Penn State or Michigan games are now prohibitively expensive. I am going to the Northwestern game in Chicago but not sure if I will be making it to a game in Columbus this year.

Where do the scalpers get the tickets from?
Towards the start of the game, scalpers are ready to unload tickets. In some cases scalpers have game tickets & need to sell what they're scalping so they can get into the game.

Really if you want to get relatively cheap tickets, you need to find a student that doesn't really want tickets, and pay them to get tickets for you. It's only like 30 bucks a game for student tickets IIRC.

Also getting a buckid to use is cheap as well. It costs 15 bucks for a student to "replace" theirs. I have two extra ones just sitting around for that exact purpose.
