I just think not to many people follow hockey on here. I could be wrong. Maybe you could put it under general discussion. Maybe make thread and I could sticky it for you guys to discuss what you want. Or maybe chase might have a better answer. Not a bad suggestion though.

I don't think there is much demand for a NHL section. I for one don't follow hockey anything more than SportsCenter highlights. It's possible in the future if demand exists I just don't want a dead section here.
General Discussions would be the place for now.

if the blue jackets get into the playoffs you can count on people talking about it. i am a wings fan but i would love to see the jackets get into the playoffs. once that happens watch the city of columbus go nuts with it. esp. if they get far into the playoffs.

Just like how the destroyers started getting hype just before they played in their championship game.

Am a longtime NHL fan myself, I personally just like to watch hockey ever since I was young, the whole miracle on ice thing captivated me even though I was very young then, so when c-bus got awarded an NHL team, it was easy for me to jump on the CBJ bandwagon.
So as a Jackets fan, its been longsuffering the past few seasons, but things are finally looking up about halfway into this season. Like fans of all teams, everyone wants a winner, in hockey the playoffs are always a goal for every team, but I've taken a more realistic approach to this season. As long as the Jackets are right there fighting for a playoff spot by say March, I'm gonna be a happy camper. Of course I'll take the playoffs any day and hope to score great playoff tix when the time comes :)

hockey is a great sport. there's only one pro sport i can watch other then hockey and that's the nfl. baseball lost my respect when the strike took place in the 90's and the NBA is full of thugs. it sucks that people don't follow it. if people knew the rules and actually watched a playoff game they would get into it. i was living in north carolina when the got into the finals. it was funny how many people caught the hockey fever. i just moved down here in columbus and i hope they get in. i have been a wings fan my whole life but a town like columbus deserves it.
