Never heard much about him.
Who is he and where is he from?

Linebacker - Dublin Coffman. 4-stars Scout. Can flat-out play a little smallish, great speed and he is a tackling machine. The offer is a greyshirt.

I have never really understood what the greyshirt was?
Sounds like he could be very potent in the future though. =]

I may be wrong but as I understand it ... being offered a greyshirt is in essence being a preferred walk on with the understanding that in the future you would get a scholarship. Just from reading on other sites, alot of people like what Gardiner brings to the table and he is really high on the BUCKS. Has drawn some comparison's to A.J. Hawk, a hard nose kid who is always around the ball. Would love to see him come aboard and get the scholarship he deserves next season when we have the avaliable ships to dish out.

Didn't Boeckmann get a greyshirt?

Yes Boeckman was grey-shirted.
As for Gardiner. I wouldn't go to OSU if I were him. This class we already have Sweat, Sabino, maybe Torrence already in this class and 2 committed for 2009. Not to mention we're already loaded with young LB's already on the current roster. Take the offers you already have and go from there.
Not saying the kid isn't good enough, just saying we don't need anymore LB's.

SD Buckeye, I agree with your comment but JT must see a role for Gardiner somewhere, possibly FB or Safety? If JT wants him and he is willing to greyshirt, I say go for it.

Fullback would be good. I wouldn't have a problem with that. But we have what, 2 or 3 scholarships left to give and we got to save room for Pryor and Jenkins.
