I know Indiana has a hell of a team, but this OSU team has a toughness about them to the point that I cant see us getting swept by any team. If we dont beat the Hoosiers tomorrow, I would count on us beating them in the B1G tourney

Buckeyes, Hoosiers have lot riding on showdown
By RUSTY MILLER (AP Sports Writer) | The Associated Press – 2 hours 4 minutes ago

COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) -- This has been a season of mayhem in the Big Ten.

Now Ohio State would like to scramble it even more.

The No. 14 Buckeyes travel to play second-ranked Indiana on Tuesday night as the conference's wacky regular season winds down to its final week.

It'll be a crimson-letter evening for the Hoosiers, that's for sure. They've already captured a share of the conference title. To win it outright for the first time since 1993, they need to beat the Buckeyes or win at No. 7 Michigan on Sunday.

At least half of the Big Ten will be hoping that doesn't happen.

''They're not the only ones playing for something,'' Ohio State point guard Aaron Craft said. ''We're also playing for something, too.''

Ohio State, Michigan, 22nd-ranked Wisconsin and No. 10 Michigan State all still have a shot at getting a piece of the regular season championship - but only if the Hoosiers lose their final two games.

That makes for some strange bedfellows.

A year ago, Ohio State stunned Big Ten-leading Michigan State on a last-second shot by William Buford on the final day of the regular season to drop the Spartans into a three-way tie for the conference title with the Buckeyes and Michigan.

A week later, before Ohio State and archrival Michigan played in the Big Ten tournament, Wolverines coach John Beilein said to Buckeyes coach Thad Matta, ''I'd never seen a group of Michigan guys rooting so hard when Buford made that shot.''

The Big Ten has a series of tiebreakers if two or more teams end up atop the standings. But none of those mean much if the Hoosiers (25-4, 13-3) have their way with Ohio State (21-7, 11-5) like they did in an 81-68 beatdown on Feb. 10 at Ohio State's Value City Arena.

Talking Indiana

* Thomas said Assembly Hall in Bloomington is the second-loudest arena he has played in. Allen Fieldhouse in Kansas is first.

* Matta said the game at Purdue a few years ago was the loudest game he can remember. Said his ears were actually hurting.

* Thomas said Indiana was down a little bit when he was coming out of high school. "They weren't as high-powered as they are now."

Playing Spoiler

* Craft on Tuesday night: "We’re playing for something we probably didn’t think we’d playing for a month ago."

* Craft: "They're not the only ones playing for something tomorrow. We're playing for something too."

* Craft on whether he likes the idea of playing spoiler against Indiana: "I prefer the other side."

* Thomas: "We were in the same position last year with a three-way tie. We can do it again this year."

Talking Buckeyes

* Craft on coach Matta: "We've had some ups and we've had some downs this year but it's been great to go on the ride together."

* Craft said Matta has had to tinker with a lot of things this year, like whether to watch film before or after practice.

* Matta said any time you lose great players from a team the next year is challenging. New roles and new style of play.

* Craft said the Buckeyes went "a little solo" on defense at times this year. Have a better awareness now of each other.

* Thomas admitted he's been a little down about his offensive game lately but there are other ways to impact the game. Said he has been rushing his shot too much lately.

Indiana has more to lose in this game than we do. They can lose a full B1G championship? #1 seed in tourney.

We accept the challenge.

Ross is really lost out there...

Lenzelle needs to get aggressive on offense...

Deshaun's shot is off...

Slam is playing great...

Ravenal is playing well...

We NEED an outside threat...
