Default 2013 NFL Scouting Combine

The Combine starts Saturday. NFL.com has all of their profiles and "rankings" up already. No surprise, Hankins is the highest reated Buckeye... Stoneburner in last place is a bit of a surprise to me though... Especially if you consider what we expected out of him 1/2 way through his career here.

Zach Boren — 64.0, Best FB

Reid Fragel — 77.0, 7th highest OT

Johnathan Hankins — 88.6, 4th highest DT

Etienne Sabino — 61.3

John Simon — 70.5

Jake Stoneburner — 54.1

Nate Williams — 68.7

Don't put so much into combine IMO, a third of the kids invited wont be drafted and only a handful seem to help their stock,

I like it. It certainly isn't football, but it is a competition of sorts.

BTW Donald Washington holds the highest Vertical (45") for the 7 years of data on NFL.com.

I disagree with this, I think a lot of kids who were off the radar put themselves in a much better position to get drafted. However, I do enjoy reading NFL message boards during the combine, the fans who don't watch college football put way too much into the combine.

I think Fragel could potentially shoot up to 3rd round status....

Late rounder right now IMO...

There is def kids that it helps, but it doesn't mean ur getting drafted necessarily,

I think it comes down to something Justin told Zach, I coach with Justin's fiance's father, he told Zach not to be upset before he got his invite that it's not the end of world you can get drafted without going to combine, and you can go undrafted even if you go

I just refuse to put too much into it like some pro fans choose too, I mean hell denard is probably going to have insane 40 and other numbers but we all know he is very very limited on field

I mean for every Ebner that gets discovered there's a kid who falls

The combine is overrated and irrelevant.

How, what exactly do you base your football general managing skills on if its overrated and irrelevant. You don't like stars in recruiting and now the nfl has a way for every coach to look at a kid and you don't think it matters. Not trying to start a fight but Im curious to know what you judge football talent on.
