Update to forum issues (12/21/12) - ScarletBuckeye

Thanks for the patience everyone and I apologize for the issues we had today.

Our server/host upgraded their PHP packet which in turn caused havoc on our scripts we run on this forum. The problem is, some of the scripts (i.e. our front page, thank you plug-in, arcade, bookie, credits, etc) were all effected because they simply could not handle the newer version of PHP (which is 5.3.19).

From what I know, these scripts are incompatible with the 5.3.x version of PHP (we were using 5.2.x) and thus began spitting out lengthy error messages because they couldn't understand the new language.

At this time what I have to do is disable all effected plug-ins, which again include, the thank you script, bookie, credits, etc). I am currently awaiting replies from some of the code authors to see if there is a solution to this.

I am hopeful we can fix a majority of the scripts but at this time I can't say for sure. The one script I desperately want to work again is the Thank You script, so we will see. All of you thanks stats are saved so if/when it returns you won't lose any data.

Our forum software has reached EOL (end of life) which means support is minimum... so worst case scenario (I guess) would be to upgrade to the very latest version (which I don't want to) and then apply patches that should work for all other plug-in scripts.

So that is where we stand right now and I will continue to try and find answers.

If you see anything acting unusual please let me know right away so I can see what else is happening.
