Southfield (Mich.) High School junior defensive end Lawrence Marshall has seen his recruitment pick up recently and made a few visits to colleges. He took his best visit Saturday.
The 6-foot-4, 205-pound Marshall made his first visit to Ohio State for a game when the Buckeyes hosted Michigan.
"It was the best game I've ever went to," Marshall said. "It was a rivalry game. Michigan-Ohio State, that's a classic."
Marshall, who already holds five offers, said the crowd and energy in The Horseshoe separated this visit from the other visits he has taken.
After the game, Marshall talked with Buckeyes assistant Kerry Coombs, who recruits the Detroit area for Ohio State.
"He really likes me and he's gonna be at my school coming up either Wednesday or Thursday," Marshall said. "They're very high on me."
Marshall is high on the Buckeyes, too.
"I like Ohio State. It's a nice school," he said.
Marshall liked what he saw from Michigan in a losing effort and will visit the Wolverines for a bowl practice next month.

Catching Up With Lawrence Marshall: The Game Visit | Eleven Warriors
Quote:
On the visit (THE GAME): "It was real nice, and I enjoyed myself a lot. It was a great game, and for sure the best one that I have ever been to.
On his interaction with the Ohio State staff: "I got to talk to Coach Coombs and he said he likes me a lot. He was also at my school yesterday and told me to come to Columbus and check out Ohio State more whenever I want to. He said an offer could come soon. They just want to get to know me better and evaluate me more."
Marshall has offers from Bowling Green, Toledo, Indiana, Michigan State, Michigan, and Pittsburgh.

Detroit-area juniors rallying
Two prospects in attendance Saturday who are seeing some post-junior movement with their recruitments are Southfield, Mich., defensive end Lawrence Marshall and Clarkston, Mich., defensive back Timothy Cason.
The 6-foot-4, 205-pound Marshall is up to eight scholarship offers after adding Michigan, Pittsburgh and Syracuse last week. Marshall called the Michigan offer his biggest to date because he grew up following the Wolverines. He has connections to Syracuse through former Southfield and current Orange tight end Ron Thompson. Marshall said that Syracuse assistant Tyrone Wheatley has been recruiting him as long as any college coach.
