Buckeyes offer in-state junior linebacker.............Ohio State has been picky with in-state offers to junior prospects but the Buckeyes put out a verbal offer on Tuesday evening to a Northeast Ohio prospect.

Berger's First Offer Is A Big One..............Even though his Cleveland St. Ignatius team lost in the Ohio playoffs last weekend, junior linebacker Kyle Berger was able to smile Monday night, when he learned of his first offer. Ohio State informed him of their intent by phone.

For Kyle Berger (Cleveland/St. Ignatius), it was the first college football game he’s ever seen live. For Eric Glover-Williams (Canton, Ohio/McKinley) it was the first time he’s witnessed an Ohio State-Michigan game in person.
They both came away with a one-word answer when asked about the Buckeyes’ 26-21 win Saturday over the Wolverines.
Wow.
Berger, who picked up an Ohio State offer this week after a stellar junior season at outside linebacker, was downright amazed.
A lifelong fan of the Buckeyes, he had eyes the size of swimming pools following the game.
“It was unbelievable,” Berger said. “The atmosphere and the game were ridiculous.
“It was definitely a lot more then I expected. I didn’t realize the step up from high school football to college was that much, the size and the speed was eye-opening. They play their hearts out. They sell themselves out. I’m still in awe.”
That says a lot considering Berger played the best of the best this high school season and finished with 90 tackles -- 39 for loss -- and 8.5 sacks.
For Glover-Williams, Division-I programs have been high on the sophomore dual-threat quarterback for a while.
As a sophomore, Glover-Williams rushed for 1,810 yards and 22 scores on 243 attempts and was 75-of-154 for 1,114 yards with 12 touchdowns.
He has seen the Buckeyes play Nebraska this season, but even he sat in amazement after Ohio State finished an undefeated season at 12-0.
“It was a big rivalry game,” Glover-Williams said. “But this one was lot more fun. Just seeing the guys pulling for each other was amazing. It’s a game in the future I won’t forget.”

Update........
Quote:
Kyle Berger (6-3, 205, LB, 2014, Cleveland, Ohio, St. Ignatius)
Urban Meyer has been criticized for not offering in-state talent soon enough, he and the OSU coaches were way ahead of the game with Berger. Berger only has two offers: Ohio State and Cincinnati but Ohio State was first. Urban Meyer and Luke Fickell gave him the good news and Ohio State is showing that they do not want to make the same mistake that they have earlier with prospects like Mike McCray and Gareon Conley. the-Ozone will have an interview with him this week. It will be between the Buckeyes, Michigan, and Stanford for this St. Ignatius product. He idolizes Jake Ryan but currently does not have an offer from Michigan. Seeing OSU defeat Jake Ryan and Co. could leave an impression that he does not want to be on the losing side too often as TSUN has lost 8 of the last 9 meetings and 10 of the last 12 meetings of the game. It does not seem like much will change under Urban Meyer as Ohio State did not play a good game and still won the game.

Berger Takes In Buckeye Win................Ohio State had over 50 recruits on hand for their season-ending win over Michigan, and junior linebacker Kyle Berger was among them. It was the first college visit for the Cleveland St. Ignatius star, and he enjoyed his time in Columbus.
