Something I've noticed in my time here is that no one has ever started a discussion thread for birthday messages to the membership...

Problem solved... so mine happens to the the day this gets going, but what the hey... I hope that it will get use on everyone's birthdays.

And with that... to everyone whose birthdays I missed in my hiatus throughout this spring and early summer... Happy belated birthday to you all and cheers!

Or as my ancestors would say:

Yea, not supposed to happen... This morning I just finished week 6 of an 8 week series of tests at the VA, they're trying to pinpoint the source of my migraines because when they did the MRIs, the no contrast showed nothing, but with contrast shows a dark spot about the size of an acorn in the left hemisphere... since it only shows on the one, it's not a cyst or a tumor and other than the migraines it seems non-malignant... but they're unsure of what it's significance is, what caused it to "form" let alone just what the hell it is... So each week I get a CT scan done, plus I go to the VA and have one taken if I have a migraine to map the correlation of brain activity to this particular spot during normal states and during a migraine...

When I had my first concussion in basic the initial and followup MRI's showed nothing... post Iraq and the 4 concussions I had in 6 months while there... oh hey... there it is... And I've been getting the migraines ever since... but conditions of this test... no sexual activity, no drinking, no illicit substances, normal mild exercise (since bike commuting is my modus operandi).... basically I can smoke cigarettes and drink coffee since that's been a daily routine for me since high school... (definitely getting broken tonight, though... telling a Mick not to drink and screw on his birthday is like telling a cat to pee in the toilet.... you're may as well not bother saying it lol)

The good news is there seems to be a direct correlation between my migraines and said spot and now there's sufficient medical documentation AND the study evidence to prove it's relation to concussions and my time in the service in order to back my TBI claim... and finally get the 50% disability that comes with it... now to figure out what the eff that spot really is....
