FIFA 13
Any FIFA players on this board? Or am I alone waiting for the release on Sept 28?
Definitely one of my favorite games to play, especially online. And with the addition of Skill games this year, It could be one of the better FIFA games to date.

I have an old one ('11 I think) that I play every once-in-a-while. I've been told '12 was a disappointment.

Heard mixed reviews on '12. Nothing special I was told. I wouldn't know because like you, My last one was '11.
Just played the demo for '13. The gameplay feels a lot different (though probably not by much if I had '12). The realistic first touch that was put in really makes a difference. Unless you're controlling Ronaldo or Messi, you arn't going to have a world class first touch anymore. Which is fair because it makes the game more realistic.
Presentation is the same, which isn't a bad thing. Although personally, I miss Andy Gray's color commentary with Martin Tyler.
The skill games are addicting. They aren't included in the demo, except for the pre game screen. Pretty much instead of being on the training ground waiting for a game to load and start, you are presented with one of the skill challenges (i.e. passing, shooting etc)
I honestly think I spent more time on the skill games then actually playing. Offline games get boring after a while anyway unless its career mode. Online gaming is what makes this game.
Really can't wait for it to come out in a few weeks

Never been a FIFA player weirdly enough. The last one I really enjoyed and played a lot was FIFA 09. I think that was the best one.
I had FIFA 10, 11, and the World Cup edition but I didn't like them at all. They didn't last long before I binned them.

Why don't more games do this? I think that every game can have some kind of small function while loading. I wonder how hard would it be for Madden to allow you to make roster or some setting changes while the game loads? Or how about give me advertisements during the loading times and cut the price of the game 25%?

I enjoy the FIFA games but I feel really limited when it comes to soccer. The controls are so complicated (so is Madden and NCAA Football) that I feel like I am too old to catch on. To be really good at a video game franchise, you have to start playing when you are 12 years old....or have no life/job.

Great series by EA. I'll probably pick it up in 6 months pre-played.
