Some disturbing stats~~~
Our "D" was supposed to be the strong suit of our team this year, not so far.
they rank 119 in tackles for losses and 78 in sacks,Urban won't tolerate this much longer and Vrabel could be on thin ice tittb.

Might be because of the vanilla scheme. They're probably playing a bend but don't break scheme right now. I've seen a lot of that on young teams. Remember 2006? They'll get it together.

The sacks is inexcusable. As for the tfl, it's difficult to make tackles in the backfield when a team throws the ball every down.

Code, it's Urban's 1st year here. Remember, 2001 wasnt the greatest season either.

I don't think he's blaming it on Urb, just expressing some displeasure. I mean come on, we have all these big names on our D-Line and we have to rely on Dolph and Spence to bring any pressure.
Where is Big Hank and John Simon? I saw maybe two plays where Hank blew something up, Simon was almost invisible in the UCF game. Your great players have to make great plays, and right now our front seven isn't playing like great teams should.

That's the approach we took at Florida, and it's the approach we're going to take here.

Still though, where's everyone else at? If Big Hank and Simon are being doubled then there should be two lineman with one on one, and we can't beat that? Does anyone remember Suh from Nebraska? Glenn Dorsey from LSU, these dudes were doubled and triple treamed and they still wreaked havoc.

This is true. We will definitely need one or more of these guys to step it up and break these double teams. It seems like the freshmen on the line do pretty well to start the game but disappear as the game rolls on.

It is a little disconcerting to see the D-line handled the way it has been thus far.
Cal is a traditional, drop back, survey the field type of offense. There could be real problems if the Buckeyes cannot generate pressure on the QB, at home, against that style offense.
