Mike and Mike on HOF
i think mike and mike brought up some great points on the Pro HOF this morning on there show
-seperate coaches/owners/contributors so it does not take away from a player vote
-get rid of maximum or make adjustments to it,
they brought this up with fact either a player is a HOFer or not, if you have to question whether a guy is or not then he doesnt belong, youre either a slam dunk HOFer or not
i think this makes perfect sense, if you actually think about it. I mean Gale Sayers only passed 1000 yards twice in his short career, hight TD total was 14, the 5 years he played he was mediocre at best compared to standards around the league when they talk about great RB's, you could take almost anyones career and break it into pieces and say they deserve to be a HOFer

I never saw Gale Sayers but from what I gathered he revolutionized the position. But I'm at a disadvantage of not being alive and witnessing his era. I also believe just looking at stats is a faulty way to pick hall of famers...WRs in todays NFL numbers should absolutely dwarf their predecessors with the emergence of the passing game and of course the neutering of NFL's defense. I think the Hall of Fame should be reserved for players where you couldn't write the history of the game without them. It seems like all the halls have turned into the Halls of very good, not halls of fame.

Cris Carter and Andre Reed need to be in before Tim Brown.

All 3 WRs are HOF'ers IMO...
Tim Brown was explosive in his early career. It's easy to remember him as a 38 year old Raider but when he was a pup he was close to Rice...

I can't recall what Carter did. Did he have a bad attitude, the drug thing or rude with the press to keep him out? Seems like a no-brainer.

The cognac reminded me of an article I read yesterday...
Cognac, knives and fists

It's mostly the bad blood between him and the press... after all, most HOF voters are sports writers... which I have also disagreed with... IMO the HOF elections Committees should always be their peers (current and retired players, coaches, owners, and all living HOFers) to be judged by the same standard that Mike & Mike and Armani mentioned... Can you explain the history of the game without including them? If the answer is no, then they should be in the HOF. If you can, then they probably weren't dynamic and influential enough to the shape of the game to be in.
