Talked to OSU hockey coach Mark Osiecki about getting swept at Northern this weekend. Oz still thinks the Buckeyes played well.

Ohio State had a big edge in scoring chances both nights, but they hit four posts Friday and had some turnovers that led to goals Saturday

OSU had only four goals in 2 gms but "It feels like the balloon is going to pop at some point." Team is getting healthy, building chemistry

As the season reaches its final weeks, Ohio State has a run of home games that can give the team momentum going into the postseason.

The Buckeyes got their usual standout performance from goalie Brady Hjelle while also seeing their flagging offense have an excellent night as they earned a 3-2 win over Lake Superior State in Value City Arena.

Dispatch
Quote:
The Ohio State men’s hockey team skated to a 1-1 regulation tie, but lost in a shootout to Western Michigan in a Central Collegiate Hockey Association game last night in Value City Arena.
The Buckeyes (12-12-7, 11-7-5-1) took a 1-0 lead 5:57 into the second period when Tyler Lundey picked off a loose puck after Max McCormick’s shot sailed wide and settled in front of the net. Ryan Dzingel also assisted on the play for his team-leading 29th point.
After Matt Stewart tied the score for Western Michigan late in the second, Brady Hjelle stopped all 13 shots in a third period that was dominated by the Broncos, who limited OSU to just three shots.
Hjelle totaled 30 saves; Broncos goalie Frank Slubowski had 18.
Each team had a power-play opportunity in overtime, but managed only one shot. Then the Broncos (18-7-6, 14-5-4-2) scored on two of their final three shootout attempts.
