After watching the video of his commitment, it was a little upsetting hearing how many ppl in BDubs in the state of Ohio were cheering and screaming "SEC" after he announced. Not exactly what I expected. But like many have said, life goes on...We will be fine and I wish Trey the best of luck. I just hope he doesn't end up regretting this when he is watching his good buddy Braxton holing up that crystal ball...

I think anymore remarks on Depriest's family financial well-being whether it be positive or negative needs to end immediately. Keep it strictly recruiting or keep it to yourself. We are not here to discuss home affairs of others that we wouldn't want the general public to know if we were in the same situation.
Congrat's to Depriest on his decision and I wish him the best while there.

I am sure those people are "lifelong" SEC fans! Just like the people in Ohio that wear Florida Gators apparell. I call them what they are, "lifelong" Gator fans! LOL

Why Ohio State can handle linebacker recruit Trey DePriest picking Alabama
Published: Friday, July 30, 2010, 6:36 PM Updated: Friday, July 30, 2010, 6:43 PM
Linebacker Trey DePriest from Springfield gave an oral commitment to Alabama over Ohio State during a news conference in his hometown this evening. DePriest is ranked as the No. 6 outside linebacker in the nation and No. 5 player in Ohio by Rivals.com.
It's a great grab for Nick Saban and Alabama, but not a backbreaking loss for Ohio State. Great players can change programs, but seldom does missing on one player crush an established program, whether it's Ohio State, Florida, Texas, Alabama, USC or anywhere else.
What matters in recruiting is patterns.
Is your school missing out on a type of player - like top-end wide receivers or big, powerful running backs or space-eating defensive tackles - because of a style of play or an inability to put out a product attractive to those kind of players?
That's a problem.
Is your school failing in a certain region, like a major city in its homestate or neighboring state or an area farther away that is chock full of players that could supplement your base?
That's a problem.
Is your school consistently misjudging kids, bringing in lots of players with character problems that end up doing more harm than good, while passing on maybe slightly less-talented kids who would be a better fit for the system and culture you are creating? Or maybe your school continually picks kids who just don't pan out on the field?
Continued.................

I don't have any hard feelings about his decision. Disappointed? Maybe a little but not much to be honest. Trey chose to play football somewhere else... maybe he thought Alabama was a better fit for him... maybe he saw our LB depth and was concerned about PT. Recruiting goes on and we'll pick up the next great LB or a recruit who goes under the radar and surprises everyone and becomes a legend like Hawk or laurinaitis.
