Well would OSU offer him if his grades were there? We have offers out to a few RB's already who some of you guys think will be Buckeyes. With a small class, who would get "left out" so to say?

here's one of many places where learning what the words mean to the speaker, and his style, helps one 'read between the lines'.
so, when a person trying to follow someone else's recruiting feels words mean whatever, and the recruiter is his clone...he hasn't got a clue to get a clue to work with.
typical example here: did your contact report exactly what 'the source' said...or 'sorta like'?
and an example of exact wording: saying "he will not get an offer" is, with a coach i am familiar with, is a world apart from "this is what he needs to do before we'll consider an offer".
same with interview questions with recruits....

CATCHING UP WITH HOWARD
Hoover running back and reigning Ohio Mr. Football Erik Howard has college recruiters salivating. As soon as Howard gets it together off the field, he’ll field offers from all over the country.
Howard will take the ACT next month. That score and his accumulative grade-point average will go a long way toward offers rolling in for him.
“People are just waiting to see if he becomes a qualifier,” Hoover head coach Don Hertler Jr. said. “He’s got a lot of people very interested, and he’s going to go to summer camps as well.”
Kansas and Illinois are the only offers Howard has in hand. That could change.
NCAA eligibility requirements are on a sliding scale. The higher a student’s GPA, the lower his entrance test score can be. For example, a 2.0 GPA needs a 23 ACT. A 2.5 GPA needs an 18.

OBJ... you can only take 1 of the 2 RBs, who do you take? Howard or Smith and why?

I have actually seen Howard in person, but I have not seen Smith except for film...........
If I had to pick one, I would go with Smith due to his physical style of running and his higher ceiling in my opinion, not taking away anything from Howard who is an excellent back, but Smith is a top 5 running back in the nation.......
In a perfect world, you take both.

Mr. Football: 'I'm Going To Be A Buckeye If ...'.................Howard is focused on Ohio State and Michigan State. Howard indicates he needs to raise his ACT score.
