Default Trade Tom Brady?

This is an interesting article discussing the possibility that the Patriots will trade Tom Brady this off-season. At first, the whole idea sounds crazy. However, the article makes some good points such as: Brady will be 32 next year while Cassel is only 26, Brady may never be the same after the multiple surgeries (which did not go all that well) this Fall and the Patriots are hardly sentimental in hanging onto older expensive players.

I would do it in a heartbeat. I had a conversation with someone about a month ago about trading brady. Imagine how many players they could get for him from a team desparate for good QB play. They could shore up that aging defense in one trade and be set. Imagine how much cap space that would give them with Cassle at QB instead.

Imagine Tom Brady in a place that needs a QB right now desperately... that team would instantly go from horrible to playoff contender, ALA Detroit.

Brady to Calvin Johnson would be pretty deadly.

I would think about it, but I also don't think Cassel is really as good as people think, at the same time you have to look at their record with Tom Brady last year, and how they are fighting to even make the playoffs this year (granted the teams in their division have stepped it up)

The leading contender could be the 49ers. Brady is from Central California and was a huge Montana/49ers fan. Plus, the 49ers have been basically invisible for the past 5 or 6 years. Their team has no face and no identity. Tom Brady could instantly fill that role and get the fan base fired up.

I could see Tom Brady playing for the Jets, if the Patriots would ever allow it. Favre is likely done after this season, at least done in New York. The Jets have a great O-line in place and a pretty solid defense.

I would give one of my kidneys for Brady to go to the 49ers.
