Ilgauskas nears return

Cleveland Cavaliers center Zydrunas Ilgauskas is out of the walking boot, but he's not quite ready to get back into the lineup.

Ilgauskas will miss tonight's game in Minnesota because of a sprained left ankle he suffered last week. Ilgauskas said he hopes to practice Thursday and maybe play against Denver on Friday.

At last, Cavaliers' James cashing in on freebies

by Brian Windhorst/Plain Dealer Reporter
Tuesday December 16, 2008, 10:55 PM

Once he got over the Cavaliers' loss to the Atlanta Hawks Saturday night, LeBron James grabbed the up-to-date team stats and a smile broke over his face.
Under free-throw percentage in James' line it read: .801.

"I had a big party at my house when I saw that," James joked after practice on Tuesday. "No; I need to stay focused."

James set a goal, and then went ahead and made it public, to shoot 80 percent from the line this season. It was surprising for two reasons.

Windhorst Beat Blog: Marion trade rumor untrue

by Brian Windhorst/Plain Dealer Reporter
Tuesday December 16, 2008, 4:15 PM

There's been a lot of interest today in a story from Yahoo! Sports on talks the Cavs are supposedly having with the Miami Heat over an Anderson Varejao/Wally Szczerbiak for Shawn Marion trade.

You never say never in the NBA; perhaps circumstances will change. But as of right now the Cavs and Heat are not in trade talks concerning Marion and Varejao. This is from multiple team sources. That is just so you know I'm not making it up or whatever, but it makes sense if you just think about it.

I wouldn't make a trade anyway for two reasons:

1. Too early
2. It would destroy our great team chemistry

I have to agree. I'd be hesitant about trading Andy and Wally because I don't want to screw up our team chemistry.

The Cavs took care of Minnesota tonight 93-70

Lebron was spectacular(again) with 32 points
Delonte stepped up with 21 points

Next game is a tough one vs Denver on Friday on ESPN. Would be a nice statement game to show we can beat good competition on the road

After a sluggish start, James and West push Cavaliers to 93-70 romp at Minnesota

by Mary Schmitt Boyer/Plain Dealer Reporter
Wednesday December 17, 2008, 11:08 PM

MINNEAPOLIS -- Here's how bad things have gotten for the Minnesota Timberwolves: When LeBron James left the game with 3:20 left and the Cavs well on their way to a 93-70 victory on Wednesday night at Target Center, the fans saluted the 32-point performance by James, and then headed for the exits.
Apparently Wolves fans feel that they have to cheer whatever they can these days.

James scored 14 of his 32 points in the fourth quarter on an assortment of jumpers and dunks that relieved the boredom of a tedious exercise against the struggling Wolves, 4-21, who lost their 11th straight game and their sixth straight since Kevin McHale fired Randy Wittman and took over as coach.

I have to agree. The yellow doesn't do it for me.
