I'm okay with the way Carmen and Cox handled their recruitment. No issues with them. Carmen openly admits he doesn't want a pressure situation, and there is going to be that at Ohio State. Cox wanted to stay in the south and play for his home state school. Can't blame him.

It's Woodbey and Jones that I have the issue with. Especially Woodbey. Something just irks me with him.

If we can close with Petit-Frere, Rasheed Walker, and Tyler Friday, everyone will forget about what we lost. I'm assuming we have Tyreke Smith already. Doing that would address NEEDS and make everyone who thinks having the #1 recruiting class is so important happy.

It cracks me up when they say the ratings don’t matter. Well, if they're keeping score, we'd like to win that thing. I do look at that. The recruiting services, although they are not 100 percent correct, they're very close.

I completely agree...They do matter. But if you're anywhere close to the top, you're in a good spot. Some people just feel that you have to win that #1 recruiting class trophy. But I do agree that they matter. Just look at how often a team finishes with consecutive top 5 classes then win the championship.

And I'll say this, they mean more today than they did back when Ole Miss and Arkansas was signing 35 3* players and ending up with a top 10 class

I'm really happy with this class regardless of loses yesterday.

Are there strange things that happened with a few 5*s yesterday? Yes. Do I think the staff could've landed a few of them by making changes? Yes.

However, this class is still on pace to be one of the best we've seen in a while. The future is still VERY bright at Ohio State.

I also think the staff might've weeded out some divas yesterday. Idk if you guys remember Urban's last class at UF, but he took a bunch of 4* and 5* divas that expected to play right away, which ended up heavily damaging the program.

We may never know, but it's entirely possible that we dodged a bullet yesterday.

One thing is certain ... Urban wants kids who are completely on board and locked in to the program. I respect the hell out of him for holding his 5* guys to the same standard as lower ranked recruits.

I agree...you had Jones recently tweeting out things like 'welcome to family' when other guys showed interest in Ohio State...changing your mind is one thing, but geez show a little resolve kid.

I trust Urban...I think he learned a lesson at Florida and we need to be very thankful. Remember when Urban had the reputation of recruiting thugs? His players were getting arrested all the time? Well, his players at Ohio State aren't! IIRC, JT is the last player to get in any kind of trouble with the law. And that was blowing over the legal limit.

I do think we have a really good '19 OL recruiting class. I could see us getting Dobbs (#1 OT), Darnell Wright (#3 OT), and we already have Nester (#6 OT.)

I hated to lose Jones, but I thought he handled everything pretty well, given the circumstances.

He was all OSU throughout most of the process, but seemed to get cold feet when the staff asked him to shut it down so we moved on another QB. I wish he could've been a part of this class, but I can't hold anything against the kid. He seems like a good kid that just needed more time to make a decision, and the staff just wasn't confident enough in him to wait.

Woodbey is the only kid that rubbed me the wrong way.

That being said, these are 17/18 year old kids making huge life decisions. Some kids handle it well, and others don't. I try not to extrapolate these scenarios into judgement of character or hold it against them. At the end of the day, it's just a game.

We have 4 or 5 spots?

I want any two of Smith, Oweh, and Friday.

Any two of the OL’s will do, but really hope one of them is NPF.

I’m honestly fine with not taking a LB. but if we take one, take Oats. Not impressed with the other kid at all.

Would love to have both DB’s! But it’s not a position of need so one or neither would be okay. But if either or both want in, find a way to make room! 6’3” corners don’t come around often!

Do we even have a realistic shot with any of those DBs and Tyler Friday?

You never know...especially with Urban being pissed off. I’ll never forget how he closed that class at Florida where he landed four 5 stars and two or three 4 stars on signing day.

If I had to guess, I would say we finish with Smith, Oats and Walker.

    247 lists Oats at 6-4, 215 lbs.

Is he being recruited as a line backer or receiver?
