Going on holiday: Deadline extended for Ohio State to respond to NCAA By Pat Brennan brennan.164@osu.edu The Ohio State Athletic Department's deadline to respond to the NCAA's Notice of Allegations, originally scheduled for Tuesday, will be delayed because of Independence Day. University spokesman Jim Lynch confirmed to The Lantern that OSU's deadline has been extended to July 8. "Due to the holiday weekend, the NCAA Committee on infractions extended the response date for all parties," Lynch said in a voicemail to The Lantern. Lynch added that OSU did not request to have the July 5 deadline extended, saying, "It was an extension that was provided to all parties (by the NCAA)." The NCAA's Notice of Allegations, sent to OSU President E. Gordon Gee on April 21, detailed the charges the university faces. In the report, the NCAA said former coach Jim Tressel failed to behave with "honesty and integrity," and knowingly played ineligible players, including former quarterback Terrelle Pryor, Dan Herron, DeVier Posey, Solomon Thomas *and Mike Adams. Pryor departed the university on June 7 to pursue an NFL career. The NCAA's report also revealed that OSU may be designated as a "repeat offender" due to violations committed by former basketball coach Jim O'Brien and 2006 Heisman Trophy-winning quarterback Troy Smith. University officials will make their case to the Committee on Infractions on Aug. 12 in Indianapolis. OSU will begin its upcoming season under new coach Luke Fickell on Sept. 3 at Ohio Stadium against the Akron Zips.* The Lantern - Ohio State University
i am excited about the season starting but i can't wait to get these hearings out of the way. i am really lookin forward to start putting all this tattoo gate stuff behind me.
Getting prepped for game day I found this website, seems to be inspired by some of the players of our beloved school, i plan on getting the Shock the World tee Time And Change Clothiers
No, man....i just have decided to retire my Fear the Vest tee for game day so am looking for something new. Found this site from twitter thought I would share with my Scarlet Buckeye brothers in arms.
I'm wearing a sweater vest (tressel) with a bow tie (Gordon Gee) for the Akron game. Cue the haters By the way, the only time I got to talk to Ficks he was wearing a black sweater vest...jus sayin
The program is changing, I just feel the need to change with it. Tressell will always be my favorite Coach at OSU, but its time for a change.....ive already sent my neighbors letters asking them not to call the cops on me on certain game days as it will be a emotional season for me. (I live in a very old neighborhood)
I just hope if we get a bowl ban they still play hard for Fickell. Watching USC last season, the players really mailed it in.
Just thought this was cool, the link I provided for the website is run by Mike Brewster and his brother, definetly going to buy some shirts now
I'm sure it is. If you were paying for your purchase at a store or restaurant and dropped a penny from your change and Brewster picked it up and used it towards his purchase, I think that would be a violation. Ridiculous! I wonder if it's a violation if a football player uses the courtesy 'take a penny, leave a penny' treys when they are in a store. Secondary Violation!:icon_bs::smash: The NCAA is on the phonehone:
