I agree 100#, the season is so young, there is a ton of football to be played. I think Chris Ash nailed it on the head when he said it wasn't schematic breakdowns, it was guys flat out getting beat. We can fix that, it was painful to watch, but necessary to see. First big time test, and we did not do well in the first half, we answered the bell in the second half. Another thing to remember is we won't see another offense as high powered as UC the rest of the season. But we needed that test, because we need to get tested to correct issues.

They haven't played anybody good besides Oregon, and look what happened. I think they are one of the top teams in the B10, but they don't scare me.

I think if your looking at the season as a whole there is a lot of things to be optimistic about because with a conference schedule worth of games to develop and a young team to work with, theres a great chance that we will be a very good team by the end of the regular season...however i still think that michigan state is better than us right now and if you boil everything down to that one game im still not sold that were gonna win...not saying theres not a good chance, my gut just tells me after watching this game that connor cook can beat us and cincys defense is not even close to what were gonna see with mich state

Point taken but MSU doesn't have the WR corps Cincy has. But I do agree if we played MSU today we would lose. Not because of the defense because of the young O line. They have had 2 good games but I still feel they need more time to gel.

Wait, he was going to OSU for free because he was a former caddie? Like Caddie for the OSU golf team or at a course. What will be interesting is how much they will go after Anthony.

I bet they go after enough money from Anthony to make up for everything being pulled. All of a sudden he'll claim damages, but the damning part is he told a news station the next day that he didnt feel anything from being slammed and had no bruises or aches and pains. However, I could see him claiming he was embarrassed by getting slammed and it damaged his reputation, its shocking what people get away with in court these days

Thanks for linking this. Hollis, this explains why Bell took the inside player, and Apple was left on an island (and beat).

Like I said, we should have never been in that defense in that situation (with our safeties within 10 yards of the LOS), but that third TD was not Bell's fault.

So... Bell essentially had one terrible play on the ball (really really terrible) in the first TD, and shied away from contact on the bubble screen, which led to the second.

I still don't take him off the hook there. The article says specifically what I said Sunday/Monday. Bell and Lee cover the same guy. It's not like Bell was down in the box with the linebackers, he was more than 10 yards off the LOS. I don't accept the argument that the defensive play-call there specifies that the safety comes down from an already somewhat advanced starting position to cover the same inside route that a linebacker has covered... and leave our second-best corner in press coverage on the outside all alone.

I'm not saying bench Vonn or anything... but I can't look at that play and thing "Vonn did everything right there."
