Game 3: #9 Ohio State 41, Tulsa 20 (Final)

He dropped two today.

 

I agree. However, in there was some good things they did on both sides:

1. Stopped the run. 28 attempts, 63 yards, 2.8 yards per carry.
2. Forced turnovers. Two but should have been three or four.
3. Established the running game. 41 attempts, 323 yards, 7.9 yards per carry.
4. Moved Coombs to the box.
5. Won ugly. I can't remember a season where we didn't win a few of these.
6. Forced an opponent to punt on 6 out of 7 possessions with a turnover mixed in.

Now the not so good thing they did on both sides:

1. Allowed Tulsa to convert 6 out of 11 on third down.
2. Allowed 428 yards passing. However on 54 attempts. That is today's college football.
3. 8 penalties including several during critical spots in the game.
4. #35 played MLB for Ohio State and did not record a tackle.
5. Struggled again to pressure the quarterback until late in the second half.

 

Agree completely. I mean he can run......right? I saw it last year.

I believe the call to possibly keep for the QB or hand to running back is called from the sideline and so far he has not pulled it.........

I know he has or had an issue with his shoulder.......

Just so curious of why he just doesn't keep it on occasion to keep the defense honest.......

 

I am as frustrated as anyone but Ryan Day has barely coached two full seasons and he has 1 regular season loss.

I think we need to remember even Saban, Meyer and Dabo have all had ups and downs. We need to let Ryan Day grow as a coach and this team to grow into what we know they can be.

Day is 25-3.

I do not think that is the case. I think they are protecting him and will not run him unless absolutely necessary.
