Ohio State’s recruiting camp season will begin next week, with the first of six one-day camps scheduled for June 1.

These camps serve as a showcase of sorts for prospects across the country to work out in front of and be coached by members of the Ohio State coaching staff. Hundreds of prospects attend each camp hoping to impress OSU coaches enough to land an offer.

One of Ohio’s top prospects in the 2024 class confirmed he will camp with OSU on June 1: Four-star Chillicothe tight end Tayvion Galloway.

“I’m just ready to get out there and learn and have fun competing,” Galloway told Eleven Warriors. “Not really looking to show the coaches anything because they already know everything they need to know. I’m just looking to go out there and enjoy myself and enjoy learning from some of the best coaches in the country.”

This will be Galloway’s third visit to OSU and his first since attending a spring practice in late March. The 6-foot-5, 230-pound Galloway said he and Wilson have spoken either weekly or biweekly since his last visit to OSU. Earlier this week, Wilson visited Chillicothe High School to watch Galloway work out.

“We can’t legally talk in person during those workouts when coaches come on campus to watch us at our high school but he told Darren Gammell (of Darren Junior Recruiting Source) that it was a good day that I ran crisp routes and had a good practice,” Galloway said.

Galloway has 25 Division I offers, including three SEC schools and six from the Big Ten. He would consider adding OSU to that list a blessing.

“Nothing is given but if I earn an offer from The Ohio State I’ll be really blessed to be the first (Chillicothe player) to earn that offer since (former OSU tight end) Ben Hartsock,” Galloway said.

Four-star LSU commit Tayvion Galloway confirmed to Eleven Warriors this week that he will make the trip to Columbus Saturday for Ohio State's contest with Wisconsin. He is expected to meet with Ryan Day and Kevin Wilson on the visit.

It will be Galloway’s first trip to Ohio State since camping with the Buckeyes on June 1. While he has picked up around 30 Division I offers, OSU has not yet extended an offer to the 6-foot-5, 230-pound prospect. He committed to LSU on July 23 but is still visiting other schools, as he’s taken trips to Kentucky and Florida this season.

Ohio State would like to take two tight ends in the 2024 cycle. Four-stars Christian Bentancur and Damarion Witten, both of whom have OSU offers, are among other 2024 tight ends that have visited the Buckeyes this season.
