    BUCKS, TIGERS OFFER LEIGH’S BROTHER
After dishing out offers to a pair of Florida offensive tackles in the 2023 class last week – TJ Shanahan and Clay Wedin – the Buckeyes added a third offer to the O-line cycle, and it was a familiar name to fans following Ohio State recruiting.

Aidan Leigh, the younger brother of five-star offensive tackle Tristan Leigh, announced that Ohio State had come calling on Monday, exactly a week after he had received his first Division I offer from Maryland. And it ended up being a busy day for Leigh, as he announced an offer from LSU less than two hours later.

Both Ohio State and LSU are two of the programs in Tristan’s top five that he released on Thursday, which also includes Alabama, Clemson and Oklahoma. LSU has also offered 2023 defensive tackle Cole Dellinger, the younger brother of one of the Tigers’ most recent commits, 2021 offensive lineman Garrett Dellinger – both of whom hail from Clarkston (Mich.) High School.

    Leigh told 247Sports’ Steve Wiltfong:

“It’s crazy,” Leigh told 247Sports. “It’s like mind blowing, it doesn’t seem real.”

It is though. Buckeyes coach Ryan Day himself gave him the good news.

“He just let me know we really see potential in you and we wanted to go ahead and give you an offer,” Leigh recapped. “They looked at my film and they looked at my video tape from the Underclassmen Camp on Friday.”

Leigh is certainly excited about the Big Ten power.

“They’re a really great school and I know you have to have pretty good talent to get an offer from there.”

Aidan Leigh is a 6-foot-4, 225-pound offensive tackle who, like all prospects in the 2023 class, is unranked at this early stage in his career. Leigh, who visited alongside his brother and other family members for Ohio State’s game against Penn State in November, is a long, rangy lineman who is heading into his second year at Robinson Secondary High School in Fairfax, Virginia.

Buckeyes make play for Aidan Leigh, brother of 5-star lineman
Joenel Aguero wasn’t the only 2023 prospect to pick up a Buckeyes offer on Monday. Ohio State also offered Aidan Leigh, a young offensive tackle from Robinson Secondary School in Fairfax (Va.)

If the name Leigh and the location associated with it ring a bell, it’s because Aidan Leigh is the younger brother of 5-star 2021 offensive tackle Tristan Leigh — Ohio State’s top remaining offensive line target in the current cycle.

Ryan Day is the coach who offered the younger Leigh, and just about two hours later, Ed Orgeron and LSU made the same overture, adding a unique level of intrigue as both schools pursue Tristan. Those are probably the top-two teams in that ongoing recruitment. LSU was the school that landed former Buckeyes target Garrett Dellinger in the Class of 2021, and the Tigers have also offered Cole Dellinger, Garrett’s younger brother and a 2023 prospect.

There’s a certain level of gamesmanship involved in all recruiting, and the two-hour Monday afternoon stretch for Aidan Leigh is a good example of that.

    LEIGH COMMENTS ON OFFER
We already reported on the Buckeyes extending an offer to rising sophomore Aidan Leigh, the younger brother of Ohio State’s five-star offensive tackle target Tristan Leigh in the 2021 class.

Earlier this week, the younger Leigh — an unranked offensive tackle prospect in the 2023 class — commented to Eleven Warriors about receiving his Buckeye offer. That came after a hectic two-hour period in which both Ohio State and LSU — two of the top five schools in the elder Leigh’s final list, perhaps the top two — offered Aidan.

Those offers came a week after Aidan received his first Division I offer from Maryland, and when Ryan Day came calling, it left a big mark.

“Coach Day gave me the offer, and it impacted my life a lot because they are a really good school,” Aidan told us. “My brother helped me build a relationship with the coaches when he went on visits to OSU.”

Tristan visited Columbus in November for the Buckeyes’ game against Penn State, and we’ve reported how impactful of a visit that was — one that continued to boost Tristan’s views of Ohio State.

Aidan also walked through the tunnel at The Shoe that day, getting his first taste of the intense atmosphere that cold, rainy afternoon, while Ohio State was getting its first look at Aidan, an up-and-coming prospect who has already grown to 6-foot-4 and 225 pounds.

That size and the time he still has to tack on more muscle are a couple reasons the Buckeyes pulled the trigger on an offer.

“They like my size, length and my potential. They see me as a tackle,” Leigh said.

Like most recruits who Ohio State has been offering in the 2023 class, Leigh is in the infant stages of an exciting recruiting process, and he says “a lot of programs stand out because of their great coaches and recruiting.”
