Siereveld is one of OSU’s top remaining in-state targets in the 2023 class. He named a top six of Cincinnati, Iowa, Alabama, Notre Dame, Ohio State and Michigan in February. Of those six, he currently has visits planned to Notre Dame, Alabama and OSU.

Tuesday will be big in the Buckeyes’ pursuit of Siereveld, considering he has not visited Columbus since receiving his offer on an Oct. 30 visit for the Penn State game. Greg Studrawa and Kerry Coombs, who were his primary recruiters when the Buckeyes offered Siereveld, are both no longer on the staff.

Newly hired offensive line coach Justin Frye has started building a relationship with Siereveld, but the 6-foot-5, 315-pound lineman says face-to-face interaction with Frye will be crucial to his recruitment, and he’ll monitor how Frye coaches his players in person on Tuesday.

“We’ve been having a good relationship, but that’s on the phone, it’s not personal,” Siereveld said while attending the Under Armour Camp in Obetz, Ohio on Sunday. “I want to know as much as possible (about OSU), everything they have to offer.”

While offensive tackle is certainly a priority for OSU in the 2023 cycle, Siereveld is considered more of an interior lineman and is likely to play either center or guard at the next level, though he’s willing to play anywhere on the line.

“Whatever position coach puts me in, I’m OK with,” Siereveld said.

Siereveld’s decision will likely come after he takes his official visits, which he said are planned for this summer, though he did not specify how many officials he will take and is willing to take as few as one or two or all five. Siereveld, who is ranked as the 363rd-best prospect and the 23rd-ranked interior offensive lineman in the 2023 cycle per 247Sports' composite rankings, says he will do his due diligence in the recruiting process to find the right fit for him.

“Definitely the facilities, coaching staff and academics,” Siereveld said of the most important factors to him when choosing a school.

One of Ohio State’s top interior offensive line targets for the 2023 class was back on campus Tuesday for an unofficial visit.

Four-star 2023 Ohio offensive lineman Austin Siereveld was at Ohio State for the first time since attending the Penn State game on Oct. 30 and enjoyed the experience of touring the facilities and watching Ohio State’s third spring practice.

“I loved everything about what I saw (Tuesday),” Siereveld told Eleven Warriors this week. “Watching practice was awesome, getting the chance to see what it is like to be coached if I go here was pretty cool.”

Talking with Justin Frye in person was something Siereveld said was important to him to accomplish on this visit. On Tuesday, the 6-foot-5, 315-pound lineman liked what he heard from Ohio State’s new offensive line coach.

“He tells me all the time that he wants to coach me and I want to play for someone like that,” Siereveld said of Frye.

Siereveld said Frye has not told him which position on the line he sees Siereveld playing, but the Lakota East product estimates he will be an interior lineman at the next level, playing either guard or center.

Siereveld also spoke with Ryan Day on Tuesday.

“He loved everything about me and he pointed out the size of my legs and I thought that was funny,” Siereveld said. “He just told me everything about what Ohio State has to offer.”

Siereveld said he does not have another Ohio State visit planned, but will likely be back in Columbus soon. He added he does not have a commitment timeframe and will pull the trigger on a decision when he’s ready. While working out at the Under Armour Next camp on Sunday, Siereveld said he’d likely take a few official visits this summer, with Alabama and Notre Dame among the other schools he’s considering.

Siereveld is ranked as the 328th-best player and the 19th-best interior offensive lineman in the 2023 cycle, according to 247Sports’ composite rankings.

After narrowing down his recruitment to six schools in February, four-star 2023 Ohio offensive lineman Austin Siereveld has released his final three schools in consideration.

The 6-foot-5, 315-pound Lakota East product released a top three list of Ohio State, Notre Dame and Alabama on Wednesday.

Siereveld picked up his OSU offer when he visited the Buckeyes on Oct. 30 for the Penn State game, but he did not return to Columbus for a visit until late March. That might have been a turning point for Siereveld, who grew up rooting for the Buckeyes, in his Ohio State recruitment. On his trip, he built a strong connection with offensive line coach Justin Frye.

“I loved everything about what I saw (on my visit),” Siereveld told Eleven Warriors in March. “Watching practice was awesome, getting the chance to see what it is like to be coached if I go here was pretty cool. (Coach Frye) tells me all the time that he wants to coach me and I want to play for someone like that.”

On Thursday, Siereveld told Eleven Warriors he will return to Ohio State for the Buckeyes’ spring game on April 16, which certainly seems to be a good sign. Siereveld, who is considered the 324th-best prospect and the 19th-best interior offensive lineman per 247Sports’ composite rankings, said he does not have a commitment timeline and will simply pull the trigger when he’s ready.

Perhaps a commitment could come sooner rather than later with Siereveld being down to only three schools, but he said at the Under Armour Next camp in March he’s considering taking official visits in the summer. With Malik Hartford now in OSU’s recruiting class, Siereveld now becomes the highest-remaining in-state priority target.

 

SIEREVELD TO MAKE RETURN VISIT SATURDAY
For a few months, all was quiet on the Austin Siereveld front. The four-star 2023 Ohio offensive lineman hadn’t taken a visit to Ohio State, the team he grew up rooting for, since Oct. 30. That changed when the 6-foot-5, 315-pound prospect attended one of the Buckeyes' practices in late March.

“I loved everything about what I saw (on my visit),” Siereveld told Eleven Warriors in March. “Watching practice was awesome, getting the chance to see what it is like to be coached if I go here was pretty cool.”

Now, Siereveld plans to return for his second visit of the spring season this weekend.

Siereveld recently narrowed down his final three schools to Notre Dame, Alabama and Ohio State. In the past, he’s mentioned he’d like to commit after taking official visits or when he feels comfortable.

With both Malik Hartford and Luke Montgomery recently committed to the Buckeyes, Siereveld is the top remaining in-state target on OSU’s board for 2023. The Buckeyes will hope to take steps to seal the deal in Siereveld’s recruitment this weekend, especially considering he has a visit to Notre Dame set for next week.
