On offense, the Buckeyes offered IMG Academy (Fla.) 2022 running back Kaytron Allen, a 5-foot-11, 194-pounder and the fifth 2022 running back Ohio State has offered.

Allen was a Max Preps Freshman All-American, and he holds nine total offers, including from Michigan and Penn State. He is teammates with fellow IMG running back and 2021 Ohio State recruit Lovasea Carroll as well as 2020 Ohio State safety commit Lejond Cavazos.

Carroll is a 6-foot, 190-pound running back and four-star recruit ranked No. 8 in the nation. He is the sixth 2021 running back holding an offer from Ohio State. Carroll decommitted from South Carolina on Sept. 1 and picked up an offer from the Buckeyes on Aug. 25 as they search for their first running back commit in the 2021 class and sixth commit overall.

The Buckeyes also offered Ascenders 2022 running back Kaytron Allen. A Virginia native, Allen is a 5-foot-11, 195-pound back who has real interest in Ohio State and told Lettermen Row he’s trying to plan a visit to the school for some time in the near future as well. Michigan and Penn State have also offered among his early scholarship opportunities. He’s the second running back at IMG to earn a Buckeyes offer in the last three weeks, joining fellow tailback Lovasea Carroll, a 2021 prospect who recently decommitted from South Carolina.

Another key player in the 2022 running backs crop is IMG (Fla.) Academy standout Kaytron Allen, a 5-foot-11, 205-pound sophomore who hails from Norfolk, Virginia, and does not at all lack any confidence between the lines.

“I’m patient running. I like to read the defense and react. I can do a lot with the ball in my hand,” Allen told Eleven Warriors. “Any kind of offense (fits my style). Just put the ball in my hand. That will be fine.”

Like Megwa, Allen is looking to visit Columbus for the first time very soon, as Allen told us he will be visiting this summer with his mom, aunt, uncle and another family. They do not have a date locked in yet for that visit, but Allen knows some of the things he’s looking for on the visit.

“(I’m) looking for, can they bring the best version of myself and my family other than football?” Allen said.

Ohio State offered Allen in September, and 13 total programs have offered him thus far, including Alabama, Georgia, Kentucky, Michigan, Penn State and Texas.

Allen’s relationships with coaches, including Tony Alford, are continuing to grow, as they’re in the early stages right now.

“Coach Alford recruited me, and we have a good relationship but we really can’t talk because I’m in 10th grade,” Allen said. “(We) talk once in a while.”
