Man, Pick-town is loaded with linemen. This kid, Jacoby Boren, Taco, and there's another one too.

Should it be a concern that most of these recruits/commitments this year are no-names untill they sign? I'm not very worried about it, I trust what OSU is doing but I hope they realize that they can pretty much get any player in the region that they want. It seems like they see a kid with a little bit of potential and offer him quickly after. Probably no big deal, I just don't remember a recruiting season like this in the past, but I also don't remember an off-season like this in the past either.

:welcome: All-right, two Fairfeild county kids in one day representing the 740. These may have been under the radar, but Roberts and Elflein are good kids and will be solid Buckeyes. Welcome to the family Patrick :welcome:

Elflein, 6 feet 3 and 285 pounds, reacted almost immediately after being offered a scholarship yesterday in the wake of Lakewood St. Edward lineman Kyle Kalis decommitting from OSU and pledging to Michigan last week. That gives Ohio State two offensive linemen in the 2012 class from Pickerington. Elflein, who was also courted by Purdue, Northwestern and Indiana, will be joined by Jacoby Boren of Pickerington Central.

From what I hear, this kid has an extreme nasty streak to him. He plays like helmet's on fire and refuses to lose. Rumblings of OSU possibly interested in Patrick playing DT. His frame is such that he can carry 300lbs without an issue.
In an interveiw with scout he talks about whipping Boren and never getting beat one on one by anybody period. I like his attitude and nastiness. The more I read on this kid, the more I likey. Another good student, much lime Roberts - solid character pick up at a time like this.

I'd hope he's being looked at as a DT because we have so many guards as is. Now, makes me wonder if he's a 3-tech or a beefed up 3-tech acting as a nose tackle like Larimore.

Just saw this video and it is even more impressive than the one above. This kid is nasty! I could care less about ranking, he is going to bring attitude to our O-line...Could be a great DT too. Love this pick up!!!

Elflein's work ethic nets offer from Ohio State
    Thursday September 8, 2011
    By Tim May
    The Columbus Dispatch
    _________

It remains to be seen whether Pat Elflein becomes a cornerstone on Ohio State offensive lines of the near future, but if the Buckeyes need some concrete work, he's their man.

The lineman from Pickerington North, a commitment to the 2012 recruiting class, knows all about tying rebar and pouring concrete.

"My dad does concrete work in his company, so I work with him pouring concrete, breaking block and all that," Elflein said. "Pouring concrete all day in the summer isn't that much fun, but it's a good workout. And he makes good money, so I don't really have a problem with it."

Elflein spoke about that in an early evening this past week, after he'd finished mowing a lawn. Yes, after Pickerington North's football practice that afternoon he had gone to take care of more business.

"I have a couple of customers in the summer, I mow their grass," he said. "I've got some odd jobs here and there. I don't know, I've always liked to work hard."

The ethic helps explain how things have worked out for him on the football field. In between pouring concrete and mowing yards in June, he found time to attend one of OSU's summer football camp sessions for high-school seniors.

"He was really flying under the radar in the spring, though he had gotten some attention from some schools," Bucknuts recruiting analyst Bill Kurelic said. "But he became a factor for Ohio State when he performed well at their camp."
