Cam Large ready to visit Ohio State
Ohio State is likely to take two tight ends in the Class of 2020, and a recently offered prospect from Connecticut is set to visit the school on March 8.

“I had been talking to Ohio State for about a month,” Noble and Greenough School (Dedham, Mass.) 3-star Cam Large told Lettermen Row when he was offered on Jan. 31. “[An Ohio State offer] has a huge impact on me. This was always one of the schools I saw as a dream school when I was younger. It’s incredible to have now received an offer from them, to have the chance to play on the stage I always dreamed of.”

Large, 6-foot-5 and 240-pounds, plays defensive end as well as tight end and has 16 offers, adding Notre Dame to that list over last weekend. He’s excited about getting to Columbus in two weeks.

“I’m going to Ohio State on March 8th,” he said. “There’s not one thing I’m really most excited to see, I’m just so pumped to see it all.”

    Cam Large Visits Buckeyes

Three-star tight end Cam Large is in the middle of a busy couple months. The Massachusetts prospect had a February filled with new offers from schools like Penn State, West Virginia, Virginia Tech and LSU. He visited Wisconsin last weekend and is in Columbus to visit the Buckeyes this week.

The tight end hit Twitter to let everyone know he was at Ohio State, too. He’ll be in Columbus for a couple days followed by visits to LSU, Duke and Vanderbilt.

Trey Leroux, a 2020 offensive tackle out of Norwalk, Ohio, is also expected in Columbus this weekend, and Justin Barron, a three-star athlete out of Connecticut, was in Columbus earlier this week. Neither Leroux nor Barron have offers form Ohio State yet, but Large does.

Cam Large impressed by Ohio State program
The Buckeyes welcomed in Cam Large for a two-day visit last week.

The nation’s No. 12-ranked tight end, Large was offered by Ohio State in late January and made the trip to Columbus as one stop of many around the country. A 6-foot-5, 240-pound two-way player — he also stars at defensive end for Noble and Greenough School (Dedham, Mass.) — Large left Ohio State very impressed by the Buckeyes.

“It was awesome,” he said. “I think what makes it different is that it’s just devoted to competing and succeeding in everything they do. That’s what makes the program great.

“I obviously expected that level of greatness at Ohio State, but it was also great to get to know more about the people. Ryan Day is awesome. He’s a fellow New England guy, so I hear a lot about him when I’m at home and it was awesome talking to him one-on-one.”

Large is expecting to return to Columbus for an official visit, and the Buckeyes are near the top of his list.

“They stand really high on my list,” Large said. “I am looking for a place with great people and where I feel comfortable. All these schools have great facilities and win games and play in prestigious conferences, so it’s really all about the people.”

One area that Ohio State surprised Large and his family was its commitment to academics. He admitted that the school’s reputation as a “football factory” had given him some pause, but that was addressed completely during his two-day visit.

“I’d talked about that before I came to Ohio State with Coach Day,” he said. “But it was good to see it for myself because the school really does care about both.”
