Jalen McMillan bonding with Brian Hartline
Like LV Bunkley-Shelton, Jalen McMillan is a California receiver who has recently added an Ohio State offer, picking up a scholarship opportunity from the Big Ten champions a little under two weeks ago. The Fresno product is the country’s ninth-ranked receiver and absolutely a top priority for Brian Hartline and Ohio State at this point. It’s been Hartline driving the bus here, though, and McMillan has enjoyed the chance to get to know the former NFL receiver.

“It’s going great,” Bunkley-Shelton said. “I talk with him just about every day.

“I like how he’s been through the process, so he basically knows what I’m going through [as a recruit]. Plus, he’s developed his wide receivers.”

McMillan has offers from more than 25 schools already, including Georgia, Notre Dame and Oklahoma. But he admits that an offer from the Buckeyes does carry with it a little bit more juice.

“I feel like Ohio State is different than a lot of programs,” he said. “Their tradition of winning and development is different.”

The 6-foot-2, 180-pound McMillan intends to visit Ohio State but has not yet set a date for that trip.

Jalen McMillan joining FSP Blue Chip

The No. 9 wide receiver in the 2020 class, California wideout Jalen McMillan, has joined a 7v7 team that already contains the No. 13 wide receiver in the class too. It was announced on Twitter that McMillan joined Ford Sports Performance Blue Chip, the same team that Kelee Ringo, Sam Adams and Sav’ell Smalls all play for.

McMillan and Ohio State share a lot of mutual interest, but the Buckeyes are in competition with several West Coast schools, including Washington, Oregon and USC. McMillan also has interest in Notre Dame. Ringo also told Eleven Warriors that Scott Jr. has been pushing for Ohio State when he and his teammates talk about where they plan to go.

In 36 high school games, the 6-foot-2 wideout has 171 catches for 3,590 yards and 42 touchdowns. He burst onto the scene as a sophomore, when eh caught 78 passes for 1,810 yards and 21 touchdowns for San Joaqiun Memorial High School.

Jalen McMillan Excludes Ohio State from Top-Four
Four-star California wide receiver Jalen McMillan released a top-four over the weekend, and Ohio State was not included.

This isn’t much of a surprise. Ohio State got in fairly late with the Fresno wideout, offering him in late-February. While McMillan is the No. 49 overall 2020 recruit, it isn’t a massive loss for the Buckeyes.
