    GROWING LIST OF ATTENDEES

Rahway, New Jersey, Bergen Catholic four-star defensive end Antonio Alfano hasn't been back to Ohio State since earning an offer during Friday Night Lights last July but told Eleven Warriors he plans to attend the Spring Game next month.

“My dad has to work out the plans,” Alfano said.

The 6-foot-5, 255-pound Alfano is considered the seventh-best strong-side defensive end and No. 69 prospect overall in the Class of 2019. He holds 13 offers from programs such as Florida, Florida State, Georgia, North Carolina, Penn State, Rutgers and Virginia Tech, but doesn't plan to narrow down his options until after his junior year.

Alfano accumulated 28 tackles, 13 tackles for loss, 13 quarterback hurries, 4.5 sacks and an interception in nine games for the Crusaders last season. His No. 1 priority while on campus is to get some one-on-one time with the coaching staff.

Top N.J. prospect switches schools, still interested in Buckeyes

Ohio State has been one of the schools that 5-star defensive tackle Antonio Alfano has been interested in for some time. The No. 1-ranked player in New Jersey’s 2019 class (and No. 20 player nationally), Alfano continues to be impressed by the Buckeyes, but has not had much of a chance to talk to them lately.

“I haven’t spoken to Ohio State at all,” Alfano told Land of 10. “Probably because they are not allowed to reach out.”

There are ways for 2019 prospects to get in touch with a coaching staff, but most of Alfano’s summer has been spent searching for a new high school. The 6-5, 280-pound lineman will no longer make the 3-hour daily round trip to Bergen Catholic, where he spent his first two years of high school.

“The last month my dad has spoken to 18 schools and we are down to one,” Alfano said, later announcing that school – Rahway High School – on Twitter.

Now able to turn his focus back to the field, Alfano says he’s hoping to get back to Columbus and in touch with the Buckeyes.

“I plan on making some visits this year,” he said. “Hopefully Ohio State is one of them. I have to make sure the schedule makes sense.”

    3. DL Antonio Alfano: From the very first one-on-one rep, Rahway (N.J.) four-star defensive lineman Antonio Alfano brought great energy and effort. The 6-foot-4, 275-pound prospect powered his way past offensive line as an end and tackle on the day. As impressive as Alfano was during one-on-ones, his 4.82-second forty, 4.27-second short shuttle and 36-inch vertical jump was more eye-popping.
