There is mutual interest between #OhioState and 5-star center Isaiah Stewart (FREE)https://t.co/lrQ4T01q4j— Bucknuts (@Bucknuts247) April 22, 2018
Isaiah Stewart, C, City Rocks – There might not be a better rebounder in the entire class than Stewart. In a big win over Team Final, Stewart was an absolute beast. He dominated the glass, scored around the rim, and hit a perimeter jumper. Quite simply there might not have been a more impressive performance on the day than the dominant one that Stewart put forward on Saturday night.
Isaiah Stewart shines: The star is rising on Isaiah Stewart, a 6-9 power forward from Rochester, N.Y. Stewart, who attends LaLumiere and is ranked No. 14 nationally in the 2019 class on the 247sports composite, had a number of big-time coaches watching him on Friday night. Stewart did not disappoint, finishing with 21 points and 11 rebounds as his City Rocks team lost 80-73 to Arkansas-based Woodz Elite. Indiana’s Miller, Notre Dame’s Mike Brey, Michigan State’s Tom Izzo, Virginia’s Tony Bennett and Texas’ Shaka Smart were among the many coaches watching Stewart, who was offered after last weekend’s first evaluation period by UCLA and Villanova. Notre Dame has been one of the programs after Stewart the most. The coaching staff sees a similar path for Stewart as Bonzie Colson. “They want to turn my game into that where I can face up, shoot and put it on the ground, stuff like that,” Stewart said. “I just started working a lot on shooting and putting that into my game, so I can see myself out there.” Stewart said the time is coming to cut his list down to a more manageable number, somewhere between six or eight schools. “I want to go somewhere I can develop and grow and be coached,” Stewart said. “Somewhere I can flourish.” Stewart said former Indiana standout and Rochester, N.Y., native Thomas Bryant remains a friend he can lean on in the recruiting process. The 6-10 Bryant played in 15 games last season for the Los Angeles Lakers. “He’s helping me out,” Stewart said. “If I have any questions, I’ll shoot him a text. If things get frustrating, he’s always a guy I can count on.” Stewart said he would like to take all five official visits before making a decision.
