MAYBE WAIT UNTIL YOUR SENIOR YEAR TO NARROW IT DOWN

It wasn't too long ago that Woodbridge, Virginia, C.D. Hylton five-star running back Ricky Slade narrowed his focus to Florida, North Carolina, Penn State, Tennessee and Virginia Tech. But that's no more, as the top-rated all-purpose running back in the country recently announced on Twitter he's reopening his recruitment to any and all schools.

So where does Ohio State — which offered Slade in more than two years ago — stand?

“I have high interest in Ohio State,” Slade told Eleven Warriors. “Obviously, the coaching staff is great. And will all the commits they have, I think they are on their way back to the top.”

Virginia Tech and Penn State are still considered the front-runners from the 5-foot-9, 185-pound junior, but his relationship with defensive line coach Larry Johnson certainly gives the Buckeyes a chance.

“He knows what he's talking about and doing,” Slade said of Johnson. “He definitely has the potential to push the program to an even better spot than they are now.”

Ohio State already holds a commitment from Seffner, Florida, Armwood four-star running back Brian Snead and Westerville South four-star Jaelen Gill is arguably the top priority for the staff, so it'll be interesting to see where Slade falls in line. He and Gill have a very similar skill set, making it very unlikely they both end up in Columbus.
